Jennifer's POV:

When I entered the office, Jake approached me and handed me a file.

"This file is very important for today's meeting. Keep it carefully and give it to the boss before the meeting."

He said.

"Alright." I replied.

"By the way, your friend is really beautiful."

He winked.

I laughed as he left.

After finishing my work, I headed to the canteen.

Upon returning, I resumed my tasks.

Later, I glanced at the clock.

"Oh God, only 5 minutes left until the meeting. How could I forget?"

I exclaimed and rushed to Mr. Vinson's office, but to my dismay, he had already left.

Frantically, I ran towards him, shouting,

"Sir, sir, wait a minute, sir!"

He stopped and turned slowly.

"What's wrong with you?"

He asked angrily.

"Sir, this file."

I replied, showing him the document. He snatched it from my hand and in a frustrated tone he remarked,

"You really need to learn some etiquette. This is my office, not a mental asylum. I don't want this behavior again."

He continued, glaring sharply at me.

I nodded, my heart was pounding too fast and tears gathered in my eyes. He turned his back on me and left. I wiped my tears as Olivia approached and offered me a napkin.

"Don't worry, it happens sometimes. I understand but he is not that bad. He has a good heart, even though he can be rude sometimes."

she comforted me softly. I nodded.

"Thank you."

I responded while taking the napkin, offering her a faint smile.

I sat in my office as Jake burst in, urgently asking,

"Where's the file I gave you?"

I replied,

"I handed it to Mr. Vinson."

Jake pressed on,

"No, not that file. I mean the one I specifically gave you."

I explained,

"I passed him the file you gave me."

Jake persisted,

"Oh God, you gave him the wrong file."

I countered,

"No, it can't be. Don't make me afraid. I'm certain I gave him the correct one."

I insisted.

He received a call and left the office, moving briskly towards the top floor.

In an instant, the intercom's sound vibrated in my ears, and I felt a chill run down my spine, recognizing it as my ominous death call. Unfortunately, it was indeed Mr. Vinson on the line, sealing my fate.
