Jennifer's POV:

I arrived at the address that Jake gave me, and found myself standing outside Vinson's Mansion. The mansion is very impressive and dominating building. It's design shows how luxurious it is. It boasts a sprawling lawn, meticulously manicured and dotted with vibrant flower beds. A massive wrought-iron gate, adorned with intricate patterns, stands at the entrance, giving a glimpse of the luxury within.

When I knocked on the gate , it was promptly opened by a servant dressed in a crisp uniform. He greeted me politely and, with a courteous gesture, directed me towards the garden.

As I stepped inside the grounds, I was immediately captivated by the vast garden that stretched out before me.

The garden was a symphony of colors and scents, with an array of unique flowers in full bloom and antique plants that whispered tales of their rarity and elegance.

Walking along the neatly paved paths, I discovered various nooks and corners, each more enchanting than the last.

The gentle breeze carries the fresh fragrance of flowers perfuming the surrounding atmosphere. I felt like I am in the heaven, my brain relaxed and calmed.

There was a large swimming pool, its clear blue water shimmering under the sun, surrounded by elegant lounge chairs and a luxurious sitting area. Comfortable sofas and intricately designed tables were arranged to offer a perfect spot for relaxation, shaded by large umbrellas.

This swimming pool alone is larger than my entire apartment.

The serene atmosphere was occasionally punctuated by the soft chirping of birds and the gentle rustling of leaves.

It was a place where time seemed to slow down, offering a peaceful retreat from the outside world.

As I reached the sitting area, extra chairs were arranged, and everyone was already seated. It seemed like everyone had arrived, but my gaze was searching for one particular person.

Jake stood in the center, addressing the group, while everyone else remained seated. "I suppose everyone's here," he announced, "so let's begin."

My eyes continued to scan the room, wandering in search of that familiar face. When Jake noticed me, he inquired, "Looking for someone?"

I hesitated momentarily before replying, "No, not really."

Jake proceeded with the meeting,

"So, everyone, Anton is not here, he left early for the important meeting. So we have to start the discussion without him."

"Well, it seems we're all present except the host," I muttered under my breath.

"Did you say something?" Jake asked.

"Nope."

"So, tonight there will be a fancy dinner party for Mr. Adam's birthday. He is a good friend of Anton, and he is leaving the country tomorrow for Paris. We closed the deal, so we are celebrating. Everyone is invited."

Everyone started clapping, cutting him off.

However, Jake continued, raising his hands for seeking attention he started again,

"So, our event planner is sick, and we didn't find a replacement in time. So, we have to do everything on our own. Are you guys ready?" he asked.

"Sure, why not?" Olivia said, and everyone raised their hands in enthusiasm.

"We're all ready," chorused the crowd.

"Let's get started," Jake said, and we began decorating the garden with flowers and balloons.

I was helping, but my mind was elsewhere. Everything seemed distracting to me. Every thought was yelling his name.

What's happening to me? Why am I acting like this towards him? But I don't love him, I am pretty sure.

I can't understand why I'm feeling this way. I can't love him. I've already loved once, and I can't forget that love for my entire life.

I was attempting to tie the balloon to the tree. The air rushed with pressure that my hair flew freely in the breeze.

Instantaneously, I felt my heart racing, feeling something strange, as if the flock of butterflies had taken flight within me.

In instant, I felt a gaze on me, and when I turned back, Mr. Vinson was approaching from the paved path, watching me intently. With one hand on his side and the other in his pocket, he looked like a Greek God. As he walked, it was as if a model was strutting down the runway.

He approached me and draw his face near mine, and a flutter of butterflies danced in my stomach as his lips hovered near my ear. My breath came in rapid gasps, and my hands trembled uncontrollably.

Then, in a soft whisper, he said, "Your focus should be on your work."

With a slight smirk playing on his lips, he pulled back, his gaze fixed on me.

As I met his eyes, he moved forward, approached Jake and got engaged in a conversation. My attention remained on him.

When he glanced back, his gaze met mine and found me still observing him, he conveyed a silent message with a flicker of his eyes, gesturing me to focus on my task.

I turned my attention back to the balloons, when I looked back again, he was not there, only Jake was standing and talking to someone else.

Just then, Olivia approached, her tone was changed than usual.

"You're on the wrong path. You need to step back before it's too late," her tone was like she was warning me.

I furrowed my brow in confusion.

"What do you mean?"

With a nod towards the scene behind me, Olivia replied,

"The decoration, you are doing it all wrong."

It feels like she was saying something in hidden words.

But glancing over, I realized with dismay that I had indeed made a mess of things.

"Oh, I'll fix it, thanks for informing."
I rushed to redo the decoration.
