Aaron's POV....
I slipped the gun into my pocket, bent down, grabbed his collar and yanked him to his feet.
I started throwing hard punches at his face, one after another.
"Hey, what are you doing? Have you gone mad?" He screamed, but his words fell on deaf ears.
He shoved me with all his strength, and I stumbled back.
"He quickly grabbed his gun from the table,
"Freeze!" he shouted, pointing it at me.
I smirked and clicked my tongue. Without hesitation, I made my move. In one fluid motion, I lunged forward, catching him off guard. Before he could react, I knocked the gun from his grip.
With my other hand, I grabbed his neck and slammed him hard against the wall.
"Stay away from her," I said through gritted teeth.
He chuckled, as if he expected this reaction. I narrowed my eyes, questioning him.
"Just calm down. Let's sit, I'll tell you everything."
I didn't respond, so he continued.
"I had been waiting for this moment for what felt like an eternity. I already knew everything when I realized you loved her, the love I saw reflected in her eyes, as well as the pain. I had asked her indirectly too many times, but she never revealed the truth. From your expressions, I sensed there was something more beneath the surface, you were hiding something.
I turned to Daisy, who shared whatever little she knew. I had been searching for answers for so long, I knew from the beginning who you were but choose to remain silent."
"Let's sit," he said. He moved to the couch, and I mirrored his actions.
"Yesterday, Daisy gave me a call and filled me in on what's been going on lately. Honestly, sometimes I can't help but feel sorry for you that how you let your life and love fall apart, all because of a few misunderstandings."
"What kind of misunderstanding are we talking about here? You told her you loved her, and she said it back. So where's the misunderstanding in that?"
"That's just what you believed or maybe what you wanted to believe. But that doesn't make it reality," he said, his voice low and calm.
I straightened my posture and narrowed my eyes,
"So, what is the truth?" I asked, raising a brow at him.
"That's the question you should've asked way earlier, before you got yourself into this whole mess."
Alex crossed his fingers and hung his head low.
"The truth is, I fell in love with a girl, but I was too much of a nerd to confess. Somehow, Olivia figured out that I had feelings for Sophia. She kept asking, if Jenny and Daisy were my friends, why I wasn't reaching out to them for help.
She really pushed my buttons and ended up getting through to me. I finally admitted to them that I didn't have the confidence to tell her. That's when they decided to help me out.
Jenny pretended to be Sophia, so I could practice confessing my feelings. That's the simple story, and honestly, you're such a jerk."
My eyes widened in disbelief, and shock washed over my face like a cold wave. How could this be possible? Why? I had been living in darkness for years, battling my own insecurities and fears, and now I couldn't believe my ears. My heart raced loudly in my chest, thudding against my ribs as if trying to break free. It felt like I was drowning in shadows, completely lost.
"Are you serious?" I asked, my voice trembling, barely above a whisper.
"Why wouldn't I be?" he replied, and my mouth hung open in disbelief, struggling to process his words.
"By the way, this was all part of a plan. I dug around and found out that Olivia was behind it all."
I shot up from the couch, adrenaline coursing through me, and clenched my fists in frustration.
"Have you gone mad? How could this be possible? She was always there for me through thick and thin, always supportive, always understanding. Why would she want to destroy my life? She's a good friend!"
I shook my head, unwilling to accept it, my mind racing with memories of all the times Olivia had been by my side, encouraging me through my darkest moments.
"She couldn't do this to me," I insisted, the words escaping my lips with a mix of disbelief and denial.
"Relax, just sit down," Alex urged, his expression serious yet concerned.
I plopped back onto the couch, my anger evident, a storm brewing on my face.
"I completely understand that it's hard for you to believe, but the truth is, she sent me to Jenny, and after that, she led you to that place to create this misunderstanding. Believe me, she's behind all this."
"Why would she do something like this?" I asked, still struggling to wrap my head around the betrayal. The idea that Olivia, my closest friend, could be plotting against me felt like a knife twisting deeper into my gut.
"Because she wanted you. She's always wanted you," he said, his words hitting me like a ton of bricks.
It can't be! It couldn't be! It's simply not possible. My mind is in chaos, refusing to accept this as reality. The weight of disbelief presses down on me. Every fiber of my being is fighting against this harsh reality, and I can't make sense of it.
How can a friend who has been there for you during both the good times and the bad, betray you like this? How could someone you trusted deceive you? How could they destroy your life after bringing you back to life? It was really hard for me to believe.
Until then....
