Anton's POV....
I was in the hospital, sitting in the waiting area. The sterile smell of antiseptic hung in the air, mingling with the distant beeping of medical equipment. Jake had gone to get the medicine from the pharmacy down the hall. My head was hurting like hell, a relentless throbbing pain that wouldn't go away.
I held my head with both hands, sighed, and leaned back on the couch. My gaze was fixed on the ceiling.
**Flashback:**
He was holding a rose while saying,
"I love you. I really love you. I want to marry you."
She placed both hands over her mouth in surprise.
"I love you too," she said excitedly.
Then she accepted the rose and hugged him. As I turned away, laughter echoed in the air. I left without looking back.
**End of flashback.**
Breathing heavily, I sat upright on the couch, beads of sweat trickled down my forehead. Everything seemed blurred around me until my gaze focused on a scene ahead.
Alex had his hand on Jennifer's shoulder, guiding her with care Daisy on the other side. Intently observing them, I approached.
"What happened?" I tried to be emotionless.
Upon hearing my voice, Jennifer looked up, our eyes meeting.
"She passed out and fell," Daisy replied.
"Has she received treatment?" I inquired, without breaking eye contact.
"Yes," Daisy affirmed.
"Are you okay?" I asked Jennifer. Still looking into her eyes intently.
She nodded silently. My attention shifted to Alex's hand on her shoulder. I looked up at his face, meeting his eyes with a glare filled with anger.
I gave him a look that I am eager to murder him. I hate this man with a passion. Every time I see his face, it fills me with rage.
I gripped his hand tightly, my fingers pressing into his skin with a force that threatened to crush bone.
He winced in pain, his expression contorting, but I didn't let go. With a sharp tug, I jerked his hand away, my anger pulsing through every movement. He remained silent, perhaps wisely so.
Without a second thought, I lifted Jennifer into my arms. Daisy gasped in shock, and Jennifer stared at me with surprise etched on her face. Her eyes locked onto mine, and I sensed her thoughts racing. Keeping our gaze fixed, I carried her out of the hospital and gently placed her in the passenger seat of my car.
"I'll drop her, Daisy, come with us if you want."
"No, I'll go with Alex," Daisy replied, and they departed together.

I sat in the driver's seat and glanced in the rearview mirror. I saw Jake running towards the car, calling out to me.
I knew what he would say: "You should get the treatment first." And I wasn't in the mood for an argument, I started the engine and drove away.
Jennifer sat quietly, not saying a word. I was shocked by her silence. she had never been this quiet before, especially considering she didn't argue against coming with me. It was surprising.
When we arrived at their home, Daisy was already there, waiting on a bench outside. I lifted Jennifer into my arms and approached the door. She seemed shocked and protested,
"I'm fine, I can walk-" but I cut her off.
"Last time I checked, I never asked if you could walk or not. It's better to keep your mouth shut," I said firmly. She rolled her eyes in response.
This is Jennifer always being stubborn. I smirked slightly. She sighed and rolled her eyes again. Daisy opened the door, and I carried her into her bedroom, gently placing her on the bed.
As I prepared to stand, I felt a tug at my button and realized her chain was caught on it. Focusing on untangling it, I could sense her gaze fixed upon me.
Gradually, our eyes met, and we found ourselves locked in a deep, wordless exchange. Time seemed to stand still as we silently observed each other, the air between us filled with unspoken emotions. The close proximity was stirring up feelings inside me.
I placed my hand on the chain and pulled harshly, causing the button of my shirt to break loose.
I turned to leave, but as I did, Alex appeared in front of me.
"She's okay now, you can go," I said curtly.
"I'll leave when I want to. You don't need to worry."
I grabbed his collar tightly.
"Stay out of my business, or I will cut you off in pieces. And also get ready for the surprise, I have something special for you. Meet me in my office tomorrow."
Eventually, Daisy came. When I saw her, I immediately left him and hurried out of the house.

Jennifer's POV....
I was deeply affected by the incident that evening and felt overwhelmed. I eventually passed out. Later, when I saw Mr. Vinson taking care of me, I was surprised. Did he love me? Why was he so concerned about me?
When he untangled the chain harshly, his button broke and fell onto my arm. When I picked it up, I felt something wet. Upon wiping it with my finger, I realized it was blood. Maybe the sudden jerk caused the blood to drip onto my arm. He must be injured.
Worriedly I grabbed my phone from the table and tried to call him multiple times, but he didn't answer.
Then I turned to Alex, my expression curious and concerned. "What was he saying?" I asked, my voice tinged with urgency.
Alex hesitated for a moment, his gaze shifting. "Nothing," he finally replied, avoiding eye contact.
"He seemed to be saying something to you. Why did he grab your collar?" I pressed, sensing there was more to the story.
"Nothing special, as you know, he is a psychopath." Alex muttered, then turned and walked away, leaving me puzzled.
"Okay, Alex, don't tell anything, but I've heard about the surprise," I muttered, keeping my voice low. "I'll go to the office tomorrow and find out what's going on between you two."
"What surprise?" Daisy asked, her curiosity piqued.
"I don't know. We'll find out tomorrow," I replied with a shrug.
