Aaron's POV....

I stared at Alex's face in shock, my mind struggling to process his words. I couldn't believe what I was hearing.

"What do you mean she wanted me?" I asked, my voice barely more than a whisper.

"She did everything to get you. I knew you wouldn't believe me, that's why I didn't say anything before."

He paused, taking a deep breath as if gathering his thoughts.

"Call Olivia and ask her to come to my place," he said firmly.

Confusion twisted inside me.

"Why?" I asked, searching his face for answers.

He looked away for a moment, then turned back with a determined expression.

"Just call her, then I'll tell you everything."

I called Olivia, and she picked up on the first ring.

"Come to Alex's place. There's something important we need to discuss,' I said quickly, trying to keep my voice steady.

"What happened? Is everything alright?" she asked, sounding worried.

"It's nothing serious, just come over in five minutes."

"Okay, I'm on my way," she replied, and I ended the call, placing my phone on the table with a sigh.

I turned to Alex, my curiosity getting the better of me.

"What are you trying to do?' I asked, my eyes narrowing as I studied his expression.

He just gave me a calm look and said,

"I'll tell you. Let her get here first."

"By the way, why are you even helping me?" I asked, genuinely puzzled by his sudden support.

Alex chuckled softly, running his fingers through his hair, a hint of a smile tugging at his lips.

"You always thought I was your enemy," he said, shaking his head slightly,

"but I never was. I've always been your well-wisher, even if you never saw it that way. I wanted to see you and Jenny together because I can't stand by and watch her life fall apart. She's a good friend of mine, and she's done a lot for me. But don't get any ideas, it's just friendship," he added with a teasing grin.

He mocked, and I couldn't help but roll my eyes at his playful tone.

.............

There was a knock at the door, and my heart started pounding. Olivia must be here. Finally, time for the truth to come out.

Alex moved to open the door, and my breath caught when I saw her, the person I had been yearning for, my angel. She stood there, her eyes meeting mine for a fleeting second before she quickly looked away, it felt like someone had driven a dagger straight into my heart, shattering it into a thousand pieces.

She stepped inside, Daisy tagging along.

"What's going on, Alex? Why'd you call us over so urgently?" she asked, a hint of worry in her voice.

"Hold on, beautiful, relax. I'll explain in a while."

I couldn't stop staring at her, she had this pull that wouldn't let me look away. She gave me a quick glance, just a heartbeat's worth, then dropped her gaze like she couldn't meet my eyes.

"How are you?"I asked, trying to keep my voice steady.

She didn't even look up when she replied,

"No need for formalities."

Then she went and sat on the couch, putting even more distance between us. I followed and sat next to her, hoping for a change in her expression, but she just looked at me and rolled her eyes. I smirked at her cute reaction.

Instantaneously another knock came at the door.

Alex went and opened the door, revealing Olivia standing there, her expression a mix of curiosity and worry.

As she stepped inside, her eyes quickly scanned the gathering. A flicker of shock crossed her face, but she quickly masked it, pulling a curtain over her true feelings.

"Looks like an old friends reunion, is there something important going on, or did you all just want to party?" She leaned against the doorframe, crossing her arms, trying to be calm.

Alex exchanged a glance with me before answering.

"There's definitely something important," he said, his tone serious.

Olivia's eyes narrowed, a frown forming as she processed his words. It was clear she was trying to figure out what was really happening, her mind racing through possible scenarios. I watched her intently, hoping to catch a glimpse of what she was thinking.

............

Jennifer's POV....

I didn't understand why Alex wanted to meet us or what compelled him to call us all together, but it was clear that something significant was at stake.

"So, Miss Olivia," Alex said, turning his intense gaze toward her, "why don't you tell them everything you did to them?"

Olivia narrowed her eyes at him, a mix of confusion and defensiveness in her expression.

"What do you mean, what I did?" she shot back, her voice rising slightly.

"All the misunderstandings you created, how you ruined their lives. Just tell them. It's high time you come clean," Alex insisted, his voice steady.

"Have you lost it, Alex? What are you talking about?" Olivia retorted, her tone sharp.

"Just end this drama, Olivia. Be clear with us now," Alex pressed, frustration evident in his demeanor.

"Shut up, Alex. I don't know what nonsense you're spouting," she replied, crossing her arms defiantly.

"Didn't you send Aaron to the park where Jenny and I were?" Alex challenged, his eyes narrowing.

"If I sent him, that doesn't mean I created the misunderstanding."

"Didn't you send me to Jenny?"

"You've seriously lost it, Alex," she shot back, her patience wearing thin.

She turned to the door, clearly ready to leave, but as her hand reached for the doorknob, the lights suddenly flickered and then went out, plunging the room into darkness.

A wave of laughter echoed through the silence. It was Olivia's laughter, reverberating through the walls.
