Jennifer's POV:

As he turned back, Olivia was standing there, holding his hand and glaring at him with an intensity that made it clear she was serious.

"Come with me. I want to talk to you. There is something important," she said, her voice low and firm. Without uttering a word, he followed her lead.

As I was watching them, Daisy approached me, "Let's leave," she said softly, glancing towards the door where Olivia and he had just exited. I nodded and we headed towards the exit together.

Just as we reached the door, I heard Olivia's voice sharp and clear. I stopped immediately, my heart pounding, and grabbed Daisy's hand to halt her as well. "Wait," I whispered, straining to hear what was being said outside.

Olivia's voice echoed through the air more like a sharp cry than mere words. "You are doing wrong to yourself. You said that you would never do this, so what's new now?"

"I'm not doing anything," Mr. Vinson replied.

"You know how you built everything from scratch, and now you want to ruin it, but I'll never let you."

"I'm not ruining anything."

"Yes, you are not ruining anything but your whole damn life," she said, her voice trembling with emotion.

"Just stop it, Olivia," Mr. Vinson shouted, his patience wearing thin.

"Why? Can't you listen to reality?"

Suddenly, Jake approached us, "Should I drop you guys at home?" he asked, while looking outside.

"No, we have our own car," I replied, Jake nodded and said, "Okay, then let's go," his gaze was continuously to the exit as he moved towards it.

We followed Jake outside, and as he stepped through the door, they both fell silent, perhaps in response to some gesture he made.

As we made our way to the parking lot, I stole a glance at Mr. Vinson. His demeanor remained stoic, but I could sense the turmoil beneath the surface. He briefly met my gaze before turning away. He is a constant puzzle, which no one can solve.

"What was happening over there?" Daisy asked, as we made our way to the car.

"I'm not sure," I replied, "but it seems like something is being kept from everyone."

"Alex is frequently meeting with Mr. Vinson for some case, but that idiot never told me," I mentioned.

"What could he be hiding? I'll ask him if he won't tell I will smash that idiot's head." Daisy's frustration evident in her tone.

"He probably won't share, he's quite determined to keep it to himself."

"It does seem suspicious."

"Indeed."

"By the way, you knew everything, right?" I asked.

"Knew what?" she replied, her eyes dancing with curiosity.

"About the party."

"Yeah," she said, she was scratching her neck unable to hide her grin.

"You are such a moron."

"Thank you for the compliment," she replied, her laughter bubbling up.

"Who arranged this? Tell me clearly."

"Jake told me that he arranged it, but it doesn't seem like that."

"So, what did it seem like?"

"That Mr. Vinson arranged it secretly," she said, her tone laced with amusement as she grinned widely and raised an eyebrow.

"Why would he book the whole restaurant for me?" I pondered aloud, perplexed by the revelation.

"You know better," Daisy teased, nudging me with her elbow. "By the way, the owner doesn't need to book."

"It's Mr. Vinson's?" I exclaimed, realization washing over me.

"Yeah, he's the owner of this heavenly restaurant. So, what do you think? Who could have given the party?" she asked, her gaze sparkling with mischief as she brushed my shoulder teasingly.

Just then, Mr. Vinson stormed towards his car, his face red with anger. Without glancing in our direction, he yanked the door open.

Jake hurried after him, trying to say something, but Mr. Vinson, in his fury, kicked the car with a force that made it shudder. He then slid into the driver's seat, slamming the door behind him. Jake leaned in through the open window, his words urgent, but Mr. Vinson wasn't listening. The engine roared to life with a loud rumble, and he pulled away from the curb aggressively. A thick cloud of dust billowed up behind the car, swirling in the air as it sped down the road, disappearing from sight within seconds.

Jake stood there for a moment, looking frustrated and helpless. He casted a glance in our direction, then walked to his own car and quickly followed Mr. Vinson, disappearing down the road after him.

"Woah, girl. This man is such a strange mystery," Daisy said as she opened the door and settled into the driver's seat. I slid into the passenger seat. Daisy started the car, the engine purring to life.

"I can't understand what this man is," she continued, shaking her head in bewilderment as she adjusted the rearview mirror.

"I can't either," I agreed, fastening my seatbelt. "He's calm one second and a storm the next," she said, her voice tinged with frustration. She pulled the car from the curb and merged onto the road, her grip on the steering wheel tightening.

"Yeah, that's true. He's such a mystery that never unfolds," I added, staring out the window as the city lights blurred past.

I couldn't shake the uneasy feeling settling in my gut. Daisy drove in thoughtful silence for a moment, the hum of the tires on the pavement was the only sound.

"Do you think he has some hidden agenda?" Daisy asked, breaking the silence as we drove past rows of dimly lit shops and houses.

"Maybe," I replied, sighing. "Or maybe he's just as conflicted as he seems. Either way, he's definitely not easy to figure out."

Daisy nodded, her eyes focused on the road ahead.

"How Olivia and Jake know him?" Daisy asked.

"I never asked them."

"That's incredible, my girl. You truly deserve a standing ovation."

"Shut up and keep your eyes on the road, or we'll end up at the hospital instead of home."

"Okay boss as you say."
