Jennifer's POV:
I was sitting on the couch, scrolling through my phone, lost in the endless stream of thoughts. Suddenly, a cushion came flying out of nowhere and hit me on the head. I stumbled back into the couch, my heart skipped a beat as I tried to catch my breath.
"You bitch, I've been talking to you for an hour, and you didn't even reply!" Daisy's voice rang out, filled with frustration.
I looked up, bewildered. "What were you saying? I really didn't hear you," I replied, genuinely confused.
Daisy's eyes widened in exaggerated disbelief. "Oh, sure, you didn't hear me," she said sarcastically, then picked up another cushion and threw it at me.
"Come on, Daisy, stop it."
"You deserve this, sweetheart," she shot back, launching yet another cushion in my direction.
I grabbed a cushion and threw it back at her, a grin spreading across my face. "I think these cushions are just for our fights. What did these tiny things ever do to you?"
Daisy burst out laughing. Eventually, she walked over and plopped down beside me on the couch. "Maybe they are. But seriously, pay attention sometimes. I was telling you about my day, and you just zoned out."
"Now tell me, what were you thinking? In which world were you lost?" She asked.
I sighed deeply. "I have strong feelings for Mr. Vinson," I confessed, looking down at my hands.
"What do you mean by 'strong feelings'? Something beautiful, I know," she said with a teasing smile.
I rolled my eyes and continued. "Today, the police arrested him, and he came back just after two hours. But it felt like an eternity, as if the world had become dark and I was all alone. I missed him so much, and I was so worried about him. Although he is always so rude to me, I still care about him. Somewhere in my heart, I have a soft corner for him."
"This is not just a soft corner. This is love, sweetheart, pure love," Daisy said teasingly. "I knew all along that you loved him. I was just waiting for the moment when you would realize it yourself."
"It's not like that, Daisy, I'm just worried because when I saw him, I couldn't control my senses. I don't understand why or how I ran towards him and hugged him. But he didn't react, and he left without saying anything. I'm worried about what he would think of me."
"Seriously, girl, you hugged him? Mr. Rude himself?" Daisy exclaimed with a mix of surprise and excitement, her eyes widening with curiosity.
I nodded, "Yeah, I don't know what came over me. It was like my emotions just took control."
"It sounds like you're really in deep shit." She brushed my shoulder teasingly, "I am sure, he feels something too but doesn't know how to show it."
"What are you saying, Daisy? I don't love him. But I'm so confused why I'm so worried about him."
"Girl, have you gone mad? Anyone can tell that you love him. Only you couldn't realize this," Daisy shrugged.
"Maybe you're right."
"I know I am, I can see it in your eyes, go and confess to him."
"Are you in your senses, Daisy? How could I tell him that I love him? He will eat me whole."
"He also loves you. Why would he eat you?" Daisy countered, raising an eyebrow skeptically.
"How could you be so sure?"
"Because of the way he looks at you. It's like you're the only person for him in this whole world."
"You've really gone mad," I muttered, feeling overwhelmed by Daisy's insistence but secretly comforted by her belief in something I couldn't quite grasp.
"I have something to tell you," she said, her eyes sparkling with anticipation.
"Then tell me, what are you waiting for?" I replied eagerly, sensing her excitement.
"The news is that Jake and I are getting married!" she exclaimed, her voice filled with joy as she shouted. "We love each other so much, and he proposed me," she added, blushing slightly as her cheeks turned a tint of red.
My eyes widened in excitement, and I couldn't control my happiness. I hugged her tightly. "I'm so happy for you," I said sincerely, my voice filled with genuine joy, tears welled up in my eyes, filled with happiness.
"I want a treat," I teased playfully.
"Okay, okay, I'll treat you. How about now?"
"Now?"
"Yes, why not? Let's go."
--------------
I was dressed in slim-fit jeans paired with a casual yet elegant white top, complemented by subtle makeup.
Daisy was wearing jumpsuit. After we got ready, she grabbed the car keys, a glint of excitement in her eyes, and we left for dinner. As we approached the restaurant, I couldn't help but voice my concern, "Daisy, have you gone mad? It's so expensive."
"It's up to me, don't worry," she reassured me with a confident smile.
"But...." before I could protest further, she interrupted firmly, "No buts, let's go."
I followed her inside. The interior of the restaurant greeted us with opulence and elegance, crystal chandeliers shimmered overhead, plush velvet drapes adorned the walls, and soft candlelight flickered on each table. The ambiance was captivating, and I found myself marveling at the intricate details around us.
Amidst my awe, my gaze wandered, Instantaneously, my gaze fell onto someone and my heart skipped a beat.
