Alexis was out to lunch with Erin whilst she was on a break from work the next day, and the two friends had plenty to catch up on. Once Alexis had filled Erin in of all the happenings from the previous few days, Erin was thrilled for her.

"Oh, so you guys are like married now?"

"Very funny, Ez."

"I'm just saying!" Erin held up her hands defensively. "That man is down so bad for you."

Alexis rolled her eyes as she checked her phone, it buzzing with a text.

Lan
miss you already ❤️

"Let me guess, Lando?" Erin smirked at Alexis who was very obviously smiling down at her phone.

Alexis stuck her middle finger up at Erin as she quickly typed out a response to Lando, fighting the grin that was already making her cheeks hurt.

Al
miss u too lan

"I wish you and Belle were coming to the Grand Prix this weekend." Alexis sighed as she put her phone back down.

"Me too. I just couldn't get work off tomorrow, though. Plus, those tickets sold out so fast."

"Still sucks to not have you guys there, though. You'd love it." Alexis replied.

"Not all of us have insanely hot brothers driving in F1 who can get us paddock passes though." Erin teased.

"Erin!" Alexis scolded with a laugh.

"What? I'm allowed to appreciate Oscar's looks."

"No you're not!" Alexis couldn't stop laughing.

"Because he has a girlfriend?"

"Because he's my brother!"

Erin shrugged, sipping her cocktail, "That's not gonna stop me."

"Should you be drinking before you have to head back to work?" Alexis asked cautiously, also taking a sip of her cocktail. This wasn't the case for Alexis because she had nothing else on today, so she could have as many drinks as she liked before heading back to Isabelle's apartment.

"My boss isn't in today. What she doesn't know won't hurt her." Erin responded casually before downing her cocktail in its entirety and flagging down a waiter, no doubt to order another. "You want another too?"

"Yeah, I'll grab one more." Alexis couldn't help but laugh. "Surely someone will snitch and tell your boss if you're drunk at work."

"Alcohol has actually been found to boost productivity and effectiveness in the workplace, y'know." Erin stated matter-of-factly.

Alexis finished her drink, as she asked, "Really?"

"No, Lex!" Erin burst into a fit of giggles. "God, you should've seen your face."

Alexis slumped down in her seat, blaming the buzz of alcohol that had led her to be so gullible. "I knew that sounded too good to be true."

Before Alexis knew it, it was Friday. The day of the first two practices for the Australian Grand Prix. After getting ready at Isabelle's apartment, she met up with Oscar and Lily at the hotel they were staying at to head into the paddock with them.

On the car ride over, Oscar was being unusually quiet. It wasn't out of the norm for him to keep to himself, especially on race days, but Alexis could tell that something was off. Her feelings had been validated when they arrived at the track and Oscar got out of the car, Lily signalling for Alexis to hang back for a moment.
