The following morning Alexis stirred awake first, her eyes fluttering open to the sight of Lando still nestled beside her, his chest rising and falling in a steady rhythm. The hum of the city beyond was distant, but the excitement of the Canadian Grand Prix weekend buzzed just beneath the surface.

She smiled, noting the peaceful expression on Lando's face. He looked younger, more relaxed, in these early hours, away from the relentless pressures of the track. She took a deep breath, savouring the moment before leaning in to press a gentle kiss to his shoulder.

Lando's eyes opened slowly, and he smiled, his gaze softening as he met her eyes. "Morning, baby."

"Hi," Alexis whispered back, her voice warm with affection. "How're you feeling?"

"Better now." He replied, his arms that were already around her waist pulling her closer. The simple act of holding her felt like a balm to the relentless intensity of the race weekend. They lay together in a quiet cocoon, exchanging soft kisses and stolen glances. Each touch was a reminder of their shared life beyond the racetrack.

As they lay there, Lando's thoughts drifted to the race ahead. He had qualified in P2 the day before, a position he was proud of, but also aware of the fierce competition from both his teammate and other drivers. He couldn't help but be excited but also nervous about what the day would bring.

"How's Osc doing?" He asked, his voice breaking the comfortable silence.

"He's doing okay," Alexis said, her eyes lighting up at the mention of her brother. "P6 is a solid spot. I'm sure he'll be pushing hard today."

Lando gently stroked her hair, the gesture so familiar yet always comforting. "I'm glad he's alright. It's going to be a tough race, but I know he'll give it everything he's got."

After a few more tender moments, they decided it was time to get ready. Alexis slipped out of bed first, moving gracefully around the room as she prepared for the day. Lando, now fully awake, stretched and threw on a casual outfit - a McLaren hoodie and jeans.

Hand in hand, they made their way to the paddock. The bustling atmosphere was a stark contrast to their serene morning, but it was a world they navigated together with ease. The crisp, early-morning air was invigorating, and the sound of the crowd gradually growing louder added to the anticipation.

As they approached the paddock, they exchanged knowing glances. The familiar sight of McLaren's team colours and the growing hum of activity were signs that race day was in full swing. Lando squeezed Alexis' hand reassuringly, and she responded with a confident smile.

Lando and Alexis headed to the McLaren garage, where the team were busy with last-minute preparations. The buzz of activity was palpable, but amidst it all, Lando's focus remained clear. He nodded at his engineers and waved to a few familiar faces before turning back to Alexis.

"I'll see you after the race?" He asked, his voice steady but filled with warmth.

"Of course," She replied, leaning in for a quick kiss. "Good luck out there, baby."

As Lando joined his team, Alexis took a deep breath and turned her attention to the grandstands, the pit lane, and the roar of engines that signaled the start of the day's events. She was proud and excited for Lando and Oscar, knowing that today's race would be another chapter in their ongoing story of determination and passion.
