Rekindled

After the excitement of the group's impromptu water fight, Alexis climbed back onto the boat and made her way to one of the day beds on the back deck. She sank into the cushions, her eyes closing as she enjoyed the warmth of the sun and the cheerful sounds of her friends laughing and splashing about in the water.

Not long after, Lando emerged onto the deck. Alexis, her eyes still shut and her head resting comfortably on the day bed, was oblivious to his arrival. It wasn't until she felt droplets hitting her that she opened one eye to find Lando grinning down at her, his boyish charm unmistakable.

"What are you doing?" She asked, her voice carrying a mix of amusement and curiosity.

Lando grinned wider. "You looked like you were getting a bit hot, so I thought I'd cool you down."

She rolled her eyes playfully, but before she could react, Lando quickly settled himself on top of her, their legs tangling together. Alexis let out a surprised squeak. "Lando!"

Lando, his head resting on her chest, looked up at her with a cheeky smile, biting his bottom lip. "Whoops?" He said playfully.

He rolled off her, settling beside her on his side. Alexis turned her head to look at him, a smile tugging at her lips, before she turned back forward and closed her eyes again.

"Baby?" Lando's voice was soft but insistent.

With a soft "Hmm?" Alexis opened her eyes again, turning to face him. She immediately noticed his jittery energy and asked, "What's up? You okay?"

Lando took a deep breath, his nervous energy palpable, before he spoke. "I know coming to Santorini without telling you was a pretty big fucking gamble... especially since we weren't together. I understand now... why you ended things when you did. It probably saved us from making even bigger mistakes. But... being here with you again, I've realised how much I can't live without you."

Alexis' eyes softened, as she said, "Lando, you don't-"

"No, you gotta let me finish. Please." Lando interrupted as he took her hands in his, his eyes earnest. "I swear on my fucking life I'll never do anything to jeopardise our relationship again. I'm gonna be open and communicate, and we'll face any problems head on."

Lando continued, his hands moving from hers to gently cradle her face. He gazed at her with deep affection. "I want us to be together again... but to start fresh. Like... a new chapter in our story. I'm... I'm so fucking crazy in love with you, Al. I'd do anything for you."

Alexis blinked a couple of times, absorbing his heartfelt confession. Lando, trying to lighten the mood, said nervously, "I'm done now. You can talk."

Seeing her eyes well up with tears, Lando's panic flared. "Oh fuck, I've made you cry. That's bad. That's bad, isn't it? Did I say-"

Alexis interrupted his flurry of concerns with a passionate kiss. At first, Lando was surprised, but he quickly melted into the kiss, responding with equal fervour. When they finally pulled apart, both were breathless.

Resting her forehead against his, Alexis looked into his eyes with a tender smile. "I'm so in love you too, you idiot."

She reached up, her fingers brushing against his cheek. "I want nothing more than for us to be... well, us again. I honestly missed you so fucking much. I... I really thought I'd fucked up, leaving you. I didn't think I'd ever get the chance again to be with you. It's been so hard trying to move on when... when a part of me always hoped we'd find our way back."

Alexis took a deep breath, savouring the warmth of the moment. "I just... I wanna make the most of this chance. Let's start fresh, just like you said."

Lando's eyes sparkled with newfound determination. "Of course, baby. We'll take it one step at a time."
