The overcast sky outside cast a soft, gray glow into Lando's bedroom. The wind rustled the leaves outside, a gentle reminder of the world beyond the comfort of the bed. The room was still, save for the steady rhythm of Alexis and Lando's breathing and the occasional creak of the house settling.

Alexis stirred awake, feeling the warmth of Lando's body pressed against hers. She carefully tried to extricate herself from the tangle of sheets and his embrace, but Lando's arm around her waist tightened in a subtle, almost playful grip.

"Baby," Alexis said softly, attempting to peel his arm away. "Let me up."

His arm remained firmly in place, and he muttered groggily, "Nope."

Alexis tried again, her voice a mix of amusement and impatience. "Lando, come on. I need to get ready."

Rolling over to face him, she saw his eyes flutter open, revealing a bleary-eyed but undeniably boyish grin. The light filtering through the curtains danced on his face, highlighting his disheveled curls and the warmth in his eyes.

"Are you really gonna make me stay here?" She asked, her voice tender but firm.

"Ah-huh," He replied with a mischievous glint. "Just five more minutes, baby."

Alexis sighed but allowed herself a small smile. She reached up and brushed a few stray curls from his forehead, her fingers lightly grazing his skin. "How are you feeling for today?"

Lando's expression grew more serious, and he sighed softly. "I'm still having trouble focusing, and my vision is pretty fucked. My head is fairly sore. But I've got a good feeling about qualifying."

Alexis absorbed his words with a thoughtful expression, before she responded. "Alright. Just make sure you don't push yourself too hard."

Lando's eyes softened as he looked at her. "I'm gonna be okay, baby. I promise."

Alexis only nodded in response. After a moment of shared silence, Lando reluctantly loosened his hold on her. "Alright, you can go. But first, gimme a kiss."

Alexis jokingly rolled her eyes, but still leaned in and pressed a gentle kiss to his lips. As she pulled away, Lando's expression was a mix of contentment and playfulness. As she started to get out of bed, heading toward the bathroom, Lando called out to her, "Al?"

She turned back, raising an eyebrow. "Yeah?"

With a cheeky grin, he said, "I love you. Just in case you didn't know."

Alexis's cheeks flushed a deep pink, and she laughed softly. "I know. I love you too." She replied, her voice warm with affection.

With a final smile, she entered the bathroom, leaving Lando alone in the bed, a sense of peace settling over him. The morning was a quiet sanctuary, filled with the promise of a new day and the reassurance of their deepening connection. Lando closed his eyes for a moment, letting the comfort of Alexis' words and presence wash over him, ready to face whatever the day would bring.
