Lando and Alexis sat together on the couch in Lando's home, the familiar hum of London's cityscape providing a soothing backdrop to their quiet evening. The journey back from the Azerbaijan Grand Prix had been long but uneventful, leaving them both with plenty of time to reflect on the weekend's events. The muted glow of the living room lamp cast a soft light on Alexis' face as she stared intently at her phone.

Her brow was furrowed, and her usually bright eyes were clouded with worry. Lando glanced over, noticing her expression, and leaned in closer. "What's up?" He asked, his voice gentle.

Alexis hesitated, biting her lip. She didn't want to burden him with her insecurities, especially after the high of a race weekend. But the comments she'd been reading online had her spiralling. After that photographer had captured several candid moments of them together at the Grand Prix, it was sending her social media into a frenzy; sparking rumours and speculation about their relationship.

"Nothing, it's stupid." She mumbled, not quite meeting his eyes.

Lando reached over and took her phone gently from her hands. She didn't resist. He quickly scanned the screen, seeing the flood of comments questioning her motives, accusing her of using him for fame or to help her brother, Oscar.

"Hey baby, don't worry about what they're saying," Lando said softly, turning her phone off and setting it aside. He cupped her face in his hands, forcing her to look at him. "You know none of that matters, right?"

She nodded, but tears were welling up in her eyes. "It's just... hard. I don't want people thinking I'm with you for those reasons."

"I know that. And anyone who really knows us knows that too." Lando reassured her. He leaned in, pressing a gentle kiss to her lips. "People will always have something to say, but it doesn't change what we have."

Alexis sniffled and managed a small smile. "Yeah... I guess that's true."

Lando wrapped his arms around her, pulling her close. "How about we do something fun to get your mind off this?"

"Like what?" She asked, leaning into his embrace.

"Why don't we build a blanket fort?" he suggested, eyes twinkling with excitement.

Alexis blinked at him, a smile tugging at the corners of her lips. "A blanket fort? Like kids do?"

"Exactly like kids do," Lando replied in a duh tone, standing up and pulling her to her feet. "We'll make some popcorn, grab all the blankets and pillows we can find, and create our own little world right here in the living room. We'll just enjoy each other's company. No phones, no social media. Just us."

Alexis giggled, her mood already improving at the thought. "Okay, let's do it."

They spent the next half hour raiding the linen closet for blankets and pillows. Lando dragged a couple of dining chairs into the lounge room to use as supports, while Alexis found fairy lights to add some lighting. They draped blankets over the chairs, tucking the edges into the couch and the floor to create a cozy, enclosed space. Pillows were strewn around inside, making a soft, inviting nest.

Lando stepped back to admire their work. "Looks perfect."

Alexis agreed. "It really does."

They headed to the kitchen, where Lando set about microwaving the popcorn. The sound of kernels popping filled the air, and the smell of butter soon followed, making their mouths water.
