Upon bidding farewell to Lando and entering the flat, Alexis found Oscar and Lily sitting in the living room, a spread of takeaway containers and remnants of a casual dinner scattered on the coffee table. Oscar, with his signature easygoing smile, looked up from his phone as Alexis entered, while Lily, her hair tousled from a day spent relaxing, greeted her with a warm smile.

"Hey, Lex. How was Easter with Lando's family?" Oscar asked, his curiosity evident as he set aside his phone.

Alexis settled onto the couch beside Lily, a small smile tugging at her lips as she recounted the events of the weekend - from meeting Lando's parents and siblings to the impromptu detour to a scenic lookout.

"It was so nice, actually." Alexis replied, her voice tinged with fondness. "His family are beautiful, and the countryside was breathtaking."

Lily leaned forward, her eyes bright with interest. "And how was Lando?"

Alexis hesitated for a moment, gathering her thoughts before plunging ahead. "I... Lando and I are together." She confessed, her words hanging in the air between them.

Oscar's expression shifted, a mix of surprise and concern flickering across his features. "Together? As in... dating?"

She nodded slowly, watching his reaction closely. "Yeah. He asked me to be his girlfriend."

Silence descended upon them, the weight of Oscar's thoughts palpable in the quiet room. Alexis held her breath, unsure of how he would react. She knew that with Oscar being teammates with Lando in the high-stakes world of Formula 1 added a layer of complexity to their relationship.

After a tense moment, Oscar finally spoke, his voice measured. "Lex, I... I don't think I realised how serious you guys were."

Alexis's heart sank slightly at his hesitancy, but she pressed on, needing to bridge the gap between them. "Oscar, I know it's complicated because Lando's your teammate, but I care about him a lot. He makes me happy."

Oscar ran a hand through his hair, his mind clearly racing with thoughts and concerns. "It's not just that, Lex. It's... everything. The team dynamics, the pressure, how it could affect both of you..."

"I understand," Alexis interjected softly. "But we both want to handle this with care, especially with both of your careers. I wouldn't do anything to jeopardise that."

Oscar met her gaze, his eyes searching hers for sincerity. "This is just... a lot to process."

"I know." Alexis replied empathetically. "Take your time. I just wanted you to hear it from me first."

They sat in quiet contemplation for a while longer, the weight of their conversation slowly easing as Oscar absorbed the news. Alexis could sense his protective instincts at play, intertwined with the understanding that her happiness mattered most.

Lily reached out and squeezed Alexis' hand affectionately. "I'm so glad things are going well for you, Lex. You deserve all the happiness."

The conversation with Oscar and Lily suddenly reminded Alexis; she needed to tell Isabelle and Erin. She retreated back to her bedroom, her laptop balanced on her lap as she laid in bed. She opened up FaceTime to call her best friends back home in Melbourne. The familiar chime of the connection being established brought a smile to her face, anticipation bubbling within her as she waited for them to pick up.
