Racing and Sightseeing

The morning sun bathed Baku in a soft, golden light as the city awakened, ready for another day of Grand Prix excitement. Alexis and Lando shared a quick breakfast in their hotel room before Lando prepared to head to his team meetings.

Lando adjusted his McLaren team polo and grabbed his backpack. "Alex told me you might be going with the girls somewhere before coming to the paddock today?"

Alexis nodded, smiling. "Carmen, Lily, and I are going to do some sightseeing. We're thinking of exploring the Old City and maybe checking out the Flame Towers later."

"Sounds like fun." Lando said, giving her a quick kiss. "Enjoy yourself. And if you need anything, just call me."

"Will do." Alexis replied, her heart warm from his concern. "Good luck today, Lan. I'll be cheering you on."

Lando gave her one last smile before heading out the door. Alexis took a moment to gather her things, then headed down to the hotel lobby to meet Carmen and Lily.

"Morning!" Carmen greeted her with a cheerful wave. "Ready for a day of adventure?"

"Absolutely," Alexis replied. "I've been looking forward to this."

"Great!" Lily said, adjusting her sunglasses. "Let's get going. We've got a lot to see."

The trio set off, their first stop being the historic Old City, known as Icherisheher. As they walked through the ancient stone walls, Alexis marveled at the blend of medieval architecture and vibrant local culture.

"This place is incredible." Alexis said, taking in the narrow, cobblestone streets and the intricately carved facades of the buildings.

"It really is," Carmen agreed. "There's so much history here. It's like stepping back in time."

They wandered through the bustling market stalls, browsing the colorful handicrafts, and sampling delicious local treats. Lily led them to the Maiden Tower, an iconic symbol of Baku's rich heritage.

"Let's go up to the top," Lily suggested. "The view is supposed to be amazing."

They climbed the winding staircase, emerging onto the rooftop to find a breathtaking panorama of the city and the Caspian Sea. Alexis felt a rush of exhilaration as she took in the sight.

"Wow," she breathed. "This is stunning."

Carmen and Lily nodded in agreement, snapping photos and chatting excitedly. After spending some time soaking in the view, they made their way back down and continued exploring.

Their next stop was the Palace of the Shirvanshahs, a magnificent complex that once served as the royal residence. The intricate stonework and serene courtyards left them in awe.

After leaving the Old City, they took a short break at a cosy cafe, enjoying some refreshing iced tea and light snacks. They chatted about their plans for the race weekend and shared more stories about their lives.

Soon Alexis, Carmen, and Lily made their way back to the paddock after their day of sightseeing. The energy of the Grand Prix weekend was palpable, with fans, team members, and media personnel bustling about.

"Well, this is where we part ways," Carmen said, adjusting her Mercedes cap. "Good luck to your guys!"

"Thanks, Carmen," Alexis replied, giving her a hug. "Enjoy the session!"

"See you both later." Lily said with a wave.

Alexis took a deep breath, feeling the familiar mix of excitement and nerves. She walked briskly to the McLaren garage, where she was greeted by some of the team members.
