Thank you all for the support so far on this book! Your votes and comments don't go unnoticed, and I appreciate you all so much x

I know the previous couple of chapters have been a bit of a different change of pace and haven't included Lando, but that's all about to change in this chapter 👀

Enjoy!

The plane touched down on the sun-drenched island of Santorini, and the sight of the shimmering blue waters and white-washed buildings filled Alexis with a fleeting sense of excitement. After a long journey, Alexis, Carmen, Lily and Heidi disembarked and headed toward the airport exit. Carmen, ever the organised planner, had arranged transport to the villa she had meticulously chosen for their stay.

As they drove through the picturesque landscapes, the anticipation of the villa's charm grew. When they finally arrived, Alexis was eager to see the accommodations that Carmen had raved about. But nothing could have prepared her for the sight that awaited her at the villa.

The girls climbed out of the van, luggage in tow, and Alexis was momentarily disoriented by the sight of several familiar faces standing at the entrance. There, in front of the grand villa, were George, Alex and Daniel.

And Lando.

Her heart skipped a beat. She nearly dropped her luggage as her eyes widened in disbelief. She hadn't been informed that this was to be a couples trip. The realisation hit her like a ton of bricks; the villa was not only their vacation home but also a stage for an unexpected reunion.

Carmen was the first to greet George, enveloping him in a warm hug. Lily followed suit with Alex, and Heidi eagerly ran into Daniel's arms. Alexis, meanwhile, stood frozen to the spot, her eyes locked on Lando, who was staring back at her with an expression that was a confusing mix of awkwardness and something softer.

Lando took a tentative step towards her. "Hey, Al," He said, his voice low as he extended his arms. "Come here."

Alexis hesitated, her mind racing. "What are you doing?" She whispered, her voice tight with a mixture of confusion and frustration.

"Just... go along with it," Lando replied in a hushed tone, his eyes pleading. "Please."

She took a deep breath and allowed him to hug her. The embrace felt both familiar and foreign, and she pulled back quickly. All the while, the guys had begun taking the girls' suitcases upstairs. Alexis followed Lando wordlessly, her thoughts a tangled mess.

Once inside the bedroom, Lando closed the door behind them and turned to face her, his expression apologetic. "Okay, I guess I owe you an explanation." He began, glancing nervously at the door as if fearing eavesdroppers.

Alexis crossed her arms, her face a mask of exasperation. "You think? What the fuck is going on here?"

Lando's voice dropped even lower. "This trip was planned a long time ago, and when we broke up... I... I didn't want to tell you I'd be here. I was... I was worried you wouldn't come if you knew."

Alexis' eyes narrowed. "So, you were trying to trap me in a villa with you and our friends? Is that what this is?"

Lando's trademark charm surfaced. "Well, there are worse places to be trapped, right?"

Alexis shot him a deadpanned look. "Lando, c'mon."

Realising his joke had fallen flat, Lando quickly backpedaled. "Okay, okay, I'm sorry. I just wanted us to have a good time with our friends, you know? It's been a while since we've all been together."
