Ryder was pacing around while on the phone. Chase, Marshall, Skye, Rocky, Rubble and Zuma sat in their play-corner, wondering who Ryder could be talking to. „How long is he gonna pace around like that?" Marshall whispered to Rocky. „I don't know" Rocky whispered back.

Ryder meanwhile tried hard not to loose his temper. „Yeah... no, I get it, but like... why can't you take care of her?" he asked, unsure how he felt about this situation. „Come on man, she won't cause any trouble. I know you got this under control" the voice on the other side belonged to one of Ryders friends. Sighing, Ryder massaged the root of his nose, attempting to suppress the transformation which threatened to break free. „Please, man! You know she listens to you. Plus, you have dogs by your side so she won't be lonely." „Shut up! First of all, they're puppies. Second of all, there are lots of missions and third of all, why don't you ask Y/n?" „and risk my head? Nah, man, you know how Y/n gets. She's a goddam wrath demon!"

When Ryder finally got off the phone, he was rather agitated. Chase, Marshall, Rocky, Skye, Rubble and Zuma held their breaths, knowing Ryder could throw a huge tantrum if he wanted to. „Pups, I'll be gone for a while. Don't make a mess, Chase is in charge" „Okay?" Slye carefully said, watching Ryder storm out of the lookout. „Someone's gonna get a taste of a tantrum" Zuma predicted, and the other puppies nodded. Sure, Ryder was charming and all, but his vanity could quickly become fuel for tantrums. Luckily, the puppies never had been the focal point of his tantrum.

The portal swirled into existence, and Ryder stepped through. He was in demon form, his horns curling from his forehead. A set of large, leathery wings was folded neatly against his exposed back, while a long tail swayed behind him. Ryder wore simple demon fashion: a black sleeveless shirt with a golden scorpion-chain curling around it, a heart-shaped hole in the back made for a perfect view on his wing joints. His black shorts had a heart embroidery on the left leg and his knee-high boots put the finishing touch. The high-heels were the latest trend. „Home, hellish home" Ryder sighed, taking in the smell of fire and smoke which was mixed the the scent of despair. Crackling fires and bubbling lava rivers all around, Ryder took in the colorful scene. Despite the heat, hell had beautiful lush forests and wide meadows.

The roar of a dragon echoed through the black cloudy sky as Ryder made his way towards the city. Wings spread wide, he joined the dragon in the air, and flew towards the city. There, he steered towards the wrath ring. He landed in front of his friend. „Why me?" Ryder immediately protested, only to shut up when he saw you. „Hello darling~" Ryder purred, fluttering his lashes at you. Lust demons rarely flirted with each other, but your presence changed that. „Hello, Ryder" you said coolly. You were only here because you figured out that Ryder was supposed to take in Volcano, a hellhound.

And no one knew hellhounds better than you. Volcano sat by your side, eying Ryder critically. „Make sure Volca can transform from time to time" you said, handing Ryder a few special treats. „She'll need those to keep her transformative abilities." „Thank you, darling~" Ryder chirped, taking the treats „I'll promise I'll pay ya for it, okay?" You could tell that Ryder was trying to get out of paying with money by offering something else. Incubi and succubi did that sometimes.

„Don't even think about it. I wanna see some coins, nothing else" you threatened. „Aww... you're no fun" pouting, Ryder turned to Volcano. „Let's go, Volca. The people here are no fun" „We're in the wrath ring, what did you expect?" Volca shot back. Back at the lookout, Ryder warned Volca. „The puppies don't know about me being a demon and I like to keep it that way." „Dogs who can't sense hellish creatures? That's a new one" Volca dryly said, but she understood where Ryder was coming from.

This was a few weeks ago by now. Volca had quickly settled in to her surroundings, and Ryder made sure she could transform secretly. Today, Ryder was out for grocery shopping, leaving Volca alone with the other puppies. They played tag in the yard, when Marshall once again tripped. He fell face-first into a few stacked boxes, which stood were placed at the entrance to Ryders workshop. "Are you okay, Marshall?" Volca asked, a tiny bit scared that the firefighter pup was hurt. "I'm okay! I got a strike!" Zuma giggled at Marshall's joke but raced to check if he was okay. Rocky was already working on placing the spilled contents of the boxes back where they belong. "is that just me, or is there something off?" "huh what do you mean, Chase?" Skye asked, eyeing the German Shepard. "These wires, they smell weird. They're not normal. I think..." Chase said, carefully sniffing at the wires Rocky held in his mechanical arm.

Volca winced a little. "That's sulfur," she growled slightly. "these wires smell like sulfur." "Sulfur?" Rocky asked, but Volca was right; it did smell like sulfur. "isn't sulfur like.. something bad?" Marshall had been inspecting his paw to make sure he wasn't hurt. "Not really. I think it's only dangerous if you eat it or something." "it's only dangerous if you eat too much you might get diarrhea" Rubble showed up seemingly out of nowhere. "It is on the list of environmental dangers, you know." Rocky quickly placed the wires back in the box. "Let's just forget about this" Skye begged as she turned away to go back to playing. "Let's hope that Ryder knows what he's doing with sulfur" Rocky shot back. "Don't worry, Rocky, I think Ryder can handle a little sulfur just fine" Volca nudged Rocky lovingly. She hadn't been here for nearly as long as them, but she knew Ryder for a long while. "hope so. he knows how much I care about the ecosystems" Rocky's eyes held a hint of sadness. "He probably cares just as much as you, you know. Ryder may not be a dog, but he sure has bite when it comes to certain topics." Rocky looked at Volca with a hint of suspicion. "Like this?!" he suddenly asked, launching himself at her. Volca and Rocky grabbled with each other in a playful fight.

"Volca, Rocky! stop being lovey-dovey and come here! Ryders coming back!" Rubble shouted, though it was clear that he hoped for treats. And yet poor Rubble didn't know that he hit a nerve within Rocky. Because the eco-conscious pup had found himself crushing on Volca. As Ryders ATV pulled into the driveway, the puppies noticed you sitting right behind Ryder. "Everyone, this is Y/n. She's a friend of mine" Ryder announced, gesturing towards you. "Good to see you, Y/n" Volca thought, since demons and demonic creatures could communicate over thoughts. "I hope you behaved well, Volca?" you spoke in her mind. "So.. why are you here?" Skye asked, intrigued by your presence. You looked strong and confident after all, and your entire physique radiated that. "Just here to see my friend." you replied smoothly, scratching Syke's ears. Ryder cast a grin at you, the kind of grin where you could tell that something was up. "Don't you dare" you glared at him, only for Ryder to raise his hands in mock surrender.
