Ever since Ryder suddenly disappeared the puppies seemed... tense. But the fact that the paw patrols leader was missing was not only stressing the puppies. Everyone in Adventure Bay was feeling uneasy with the absence of Ryder. Especially Katie. She was on the phone, talking to the police when Chase and Skye came around the corner. „Hello Katie!" „Chase! Skye! It is so nice to see you. Are you doing okay?" „Yeah...Jake and Everest have moved in with us. Right now they are grocery shopping." Skye said and Katie gave her an understanding nod. „I just don't get it. It feels like he disappeared into nothing." „Maybe he did?" „Katie?!" „Sorry" The blond girl apologized. The puppies went their way, and Katie entered her house. She sincerely hoped that Chase didn't notice how nervous she was, considering that she had gotten strange letters over the last few days. As she went to the kitchen, she thought about the message she had found this morning:

Keep the fucking window open tonight. I'm done with this game of hide and seek. No damn witnesses, just you and me.

Katies skin tickled. She has interacted with her stalker via letters, hoping she would never see him in person. When the night slowly descended upon Adventure Bay, Katie sat on her bed. She didn't dare to change into her pajama, nor did she dare to take a look at the window. Footsteps were heard, as her stalker entered through the window. A hand was placed above her mouth. The leather glove made it impossible for Katie to talk. A strong familiar scent crept up her nose as her visitor sat down behind her, pulling her closer to him. „Hello Katie." the person said, and Katie realized that it was none other than Ryder. „I see you are confused. Let me making clear for you: I have had it with helping people. Half of their fucking problems are something they can solve themselves. Instead they called me to help them, because they are too stupid to help each other." Katie tried to free herself, but Ryders grip was too strong yet it was gentle. Katie remembered clearly what she had told Ryder once: that she wanted to have a boy who was strong but gentle. But they had laughed it off, hadn't they? „Well, in the end it doesn't matter. I am here now darling. And I won't leave without you." Ryder whispered the last part into Katie's ear, making her blush. „I will take my hand away from your mouth now. What's going to happen then is the following: you turn around so that I can see your face. If you try to scream: there is no damn point. I'll be gone in a matter of seconds and no one will believe you." Just as he said, Ryder took away his hand, allowing Katie to turn around. Katie could hear her heartbeat in her ears as she turned to face the boy who she used to have a crush on. To the boy who she thought she had lost forever. To the boy who turned to the villain side. To Ryder. As she took in the details of Ryders new appearance, she didn't notice how she started to stare. Ryders entire clothing was black. Black jeans, which were secured with a black belt. A nice little silver chain on the belt let Katie's eyes wander up. The black leather jacket possessed silver spikes and a hood, defining Ryders slender appearance and his decent muscles, which had gained over his time leading the paw patrol. A smile played around his lips as he caught Katie staring at him. „You like what you see?" „H-Huh? N-No." „Don't fucking lie to me Katie." Ryder pulled Katie close, their lips were only a few inches away from touching. Katie felt her cheeks heat up, her gaze got lost in the warm brown eyes of Ryder. Before Katie knew what happened, Ryder gently kissed her lips, leaving Katie in a flustered state. „R-Ryder." „Yes Katie?" „How did you know?" „Know what?" „That I don't have a boyfriend yet? I mean, you have been gone-" „I never left Katie. I merely lived in the shadows. But to answer your question: i know that your heart belongs to one person, and person only." Pulling Katie even closer, Ryder purred a question right into her ear. „Why don't you tell me who it is Katie? Tell me who has your heart." „Y-You. You are the boy I love..." Katie whispered, she was ashamed of her feelings as she loved a villain. „Damn right I am." Ryders voice held triumph and pride, before he commanded Katie to follow him. „Where are we going?" „We are going home to my father." „Your father?" „I believe you know him. Mayor Humdinger is awaiting your arrival darling."
