YOUR POV:

He clearly didn't try, nor care to learn our names. The man refused to give us his name, and in exchange, gave each of us 'clever' nicknames.

I personally didn't mind my nickname which was mute, and when I asked why, the man just told me that I was too quiet. Which, I don't really consider myself all that quiet, but I guess in this new environment I have been.

Emma was called antenna because of the singular long strand of hair that pops out from her head.

Ray was called sleepy cyclops, which I found hilarious. I told him in a fit of laughter that if he changed his sleeping habits and got a hair cut, the nickname would go away. He told me to be quiet.

Don was bean pole, and I honestly didn't know how to react to that. Should Don be offended or proud?

Gilda was rigid four-eyes which was...sooo original. At this point, I think he was starting to run out of ideas.

Finally, the best for lasts...

Thoma was pizza ingredient and Lannion was curry ingredient. I'm not sure if that's a compliment or an insult.

"They're all such careless names!" Lannion and Thoma cry.

"That guys not even willing to learn our names," Gilda frowns.

"Nat, why do you look so happy?" Ray asks the younger kid who had his nose high in the air.

"Nose!" He smiles, "someone's finally recognized my defining feature!"

"And he still won't tell us his name," Emma says scratching her cheek. "He's pretty adamant about that."

"It's because he doesn't want to get attached. He wants to stay a stranger," Ray explains as he sets down a stack of books on one of the library tables.

"Hm," I hum as I take a seat beside Ray, "he sure does sound familiar."

Ray rolls his eyes, clearly understanding that I was talking about him. I only smiled innocently.

Alicia comes running into the library with a smile, "Ray! I did what you asked!" She stops in front of the boy.

He smiles down at the girl and pats her head as she giggles and runs off.

"It seems that everything in this place can be used against the old guy," Ray says.

"Ray!" Gilda screams, "what are you making her do?!"

Ray waves her off, "just some experiments."

"Alicia!" Gilda yells, "I don't want you anywhere near that man!"

"Either way, we were able to pull the old man into our journey to find Minerva." Ray starts, "now we need to focus on rescue and escape. We've decided to do it within two years."

"We need to know how to escape to the human world because we'll be over populated with so many kids," I add in, referencing all the farms.

"We'll be using the old man's experiences to survive," Ray says picking up a book from the table. "But for now, we should be happy that he even agreed to help us."

"But do you think he'll actually help you guys?" Gilda worriedly asks, "he's really adamant about wanting to kill us. W-What if he takes you all out and then kills you?!"

Ray shrugs, "it's likely. We don't understand his actions, so we'll need to study him and adapt from there."

Emma nods, "it would have been better if we could just cooperate as escapees and not have to result to threats, but...it didn't play out like that."
