YOUR POV:
"So how did the plan with the fake rope go?" Emma asks, "who was the spy?"
Ray raises his hand, "oh. It was me." Emma gives a blank expression while Norman and I give a more nervous one. "I was the one leaking information to mom."
"It was you?!"
Silence.
"S-Sorry, I'm just surprised and I don't understand..!" Emma whines with her hands on her head.
Norman then fills Emma in about our conversation with Ray from last night. His betrayal, being our ally but also our enemy...everything.
Hearing it all again after getting some sleep still seemed so surreal.
"You betrayed and did all of this for our sake..?" Emma asks, making sure she was understanding correctly.
Ray places his hands into his pockets, "the truth was that I was going to tell you all the night you guys found the truth. But you left Little Bunny behind and started saying you wanted to take everyone with us...it was just unexpected."
Ray looks at Emma and Norman, "mom found out so I had to manage the situation. You guys were being reckless so I figured I had to keep the situation under control-ish."
"You were covering up your mistakes and were so against taking everyone," Emma says.
"But don't worry about it," Ray starts, "Norman found me out and convinced me. This time, we'll escape with everyone."
I couldn't help but frown as Ray's words from last night echoed in my head, I want to bring everyone with us, and in a perfect world, that happens...but this isn't a perfect world.
"But that isn't like you Ray!" Emma exclaims, "you never change your mind if you don't initially think about it."
Ray looks away with a scoff.
"So, you think he's lying?" Norman suggests.
"No, I'm really happy that Ray is going to help us escape." Emma says with a smile, "but this whole time Ray...you knew everything. It must have been tough."
Emma takes a few steps toward Ray as he looks at her curiously, "the experiments for the tracking devices, does that mean you did that on one of our siblings?"
I nod, "Emma has a good point. What happened to them Ray?"
"You didn't sacrifice anyone for us, right?" Emma suddenly asks as she grabs Ray's hand, "a-actually, it's okay! Because of that we can all run away now but never sacrifice one of us ever again. You're not alone anymore."
Ray smiles, "I swear, I'll never do it again."
Emma lets go of Ray and starts to make her way toward the other kids. I couldn't help but notice that Ray's hand was slightly shaking. He let out a whistle, "she sure was mad."
"But she kept it in," Norman adds.
"Ray, is your hand okay?" I worriedly ask.
He looks at me, "it hurts, but I'll be okay. She's got a strong grip on her."
"Hey Ray, when did you find out the secret?" Norman asks, "and how did you feel? You said that you did it all for us...but are you actually—?"
"Oh, I forgot to mention!" Emma shouts, "I've got to tell you guys something when we get back to the house! But before that, we need to train!"
Later that day we met up with Emma and Gilda, wondering what the new intel she got for us.
"Alright," Emma begins, "you have to study the enemy to get to know the enemy, and so me and Gilda have been watching Mama. She disappears every night, right before eight."
