YOUR POV:

The four of us stood around a table in the library as Emma pulled out a map for us to see. "This map was published in 2010," Emma starts, "we don't know much about the world outside or even where this house is."

"The sun rises in the south and sets in the west, so clearly, we're in the northern hemisphere. On top of that, we have all four seasons. So it's most likely that we're in a mid-latitude area," Ray states.

I purse my lips, "and that's all we've got..."

"Checking for cameras, confirming what's beyond the fence and the trackers...so far, everything seems to be in order," Ray adds.

"What should we do next?" Emma asks.

"Children!" We look to see Mama standing at the door with a soft smile, "would you mind helping me?"

We all agree and follow her out the library and down the halls of the orphanage, we finally stop at a door. We notice that Don and Gilda are also there which makes me even more nervous.

"What's up mom?" Don asks with a smile.

She pulls out her pocket watch and opens it, "I need you all to clean this room."

We cleaned the room the best we could on day one, which really just consisted of moving furniture around. Dinner stopped us for the day as we ate and cleaned up.

"This is bad!" Emma exclaims, "she's gotta suspect us!"

"Chill," Ray begins, "think of it from the enemies perspective...none of the kids are reacting, so it's only natural that she'd suspect the older kids."

Norman then adds, "we still need to be on guard though."

We finished up the room on day two as Mama gave us more chores to do. There was no reason to panic, that's what Mama wants.

On day three we were starting to get a bit paranoid about all of this. What was going on that she suddenly gave us all these chores? Besides the obvious.

"Ugh!" Don groans, "I'm so bored!" The boy looks at us, "why is it only us?! Is this some type of punishment? We never did anything!"

"D-Don," Gilda places her broom against the wall and grabs Don's hand, "come with me for a moment!"

The two rush out the room, now leaving it just us four. The first one to speak is Norman, "we've gotta do something about that first."

"But how?" Emma asks, "I've searched all over my body and there's no scars or anything!...well, besides the ones I've gotten myself."

"And there's nothing in our clothes or shoes, Ray?" Norman adds.

"Based on humanity's existing technology, it's a tracking device that uses radio waves. But those require batteries, so I did some calculations." Ray explains, "something super small that operates off batteries and wouldn't leave a scar on the body, it's only possible in fiction."

Emma looks over at me, "what's he saying?"

I stifle my laughter, "he's saying that it'll be hard to find and break the device."

"Plus, the tracker may be invented by the demons," Ray adds.

"So...checkmate..?" Emma asks.

Ray nods, "checkmate."

Emma groans in annoyance as Norman begins to mutter to himself aloud, only for him to be stumped a few minutes later. "We need more information..!"

Norman sighs, "I wonder if she's confident because she knew we'd get stuck like this." Norman looks at us, "doesn't it seem odd? It's like everything is...timed based."
