YOUR POV:
Intuition—a form of knowledge in our consciousness without any deliberation.
Mama always told me growing up that my intuition was what kept me out of trouble. I never believed her nor did I believe in having better intuition than others, but maybe that's true.
I mean, despite how I wasn't going to go with the mysterious hooded lady, something told me it was safe. But in hindsight, how was I supposed to know she was a demon? Not only her, but also her companion that brought Ray back to us.
We all learned that the hooded lady was named Mujika, a kind demon who seems to have taken an interest in Emma. While her companion, Sonju, was more wise and quiet.
The two took us in and treated us kindly, as if they saw us as equals. Mujika called dibs on taking care of Emma who was running a high fever and bleeding, while I took Ray who had passed out from exhaustion.
I sat beside Ray's makeshift bed quietly, observing him. Despite me being worried about Ray's condition, I couldn't help but be glad that for once he was getting some sleep. There no telling how sleep deprived he was.
Emma was asleep in another room resting up. I was worried for her as well, her wound re-opened up and began to bleed a lot but not only that, her fever.
"You two need to stop getting yourselves almost killed," I said aloud, "especially you."
Ray began to shift as I noticed he was waking up. I moved away to give him some space to breathe. He quickly sat up a moment later in a panic. He looked around until his eyes landed on me, "Y/N..?"
I smile, "hey sleepy head. How'd you sleep?"
"Fine but...where are we?" Ray asks cautiously.
"Uh," I rub the back of my neck with a nervous smile, "good question! I'm not sure."
"What do you mean you don't know?" Ray asks, "wait, where are Emma and the others?!"
"Oh there somewhere else," I say. "But to answer your other question, after you left, Emma passed out from blood loss and a high fever. Well, this hooded woman showed up, and—."
"Y/N, don't tell me..."
I smiled nervously, "whoops?"
He groans, "you're so stupid! What if she tries to hurt us?!"
"I don't think she will," I say, "she seems fine and so does he."
Ray stands up, "how are you so calm about this?!"
I stand up and grab the lantern by his bed side, "I was worried. Especially about you and Emma, but you were sleeping so well. How sleep deprived were you?" I ask grabbing his wrist and dragging him out of his room and toward Emma's.
"...not much."
"Liar," I say, "but whatever. Oh, yeah...Ray," I felt my cheeks burning, "can I ask you a question?"
"Sure," he says.
I hesitated for a moment. Should I ask him? What if he gets upset that I brought it up? "Before you ran off...you called me sunshine...why was that..?"
The name made me feel special, like I belonged...like I was wanted. But there was always the possibility that it slipped out and he didn't mean it. I shouldn't get my hopes up.
"Oh," Ray pauses, "did I say that..?"
I nod, "I-I was just wondering about it...you don't have to answer if you—."
"You're always so bright and positive," Ray responds, "I just figured it was another nickname like N/N." Ray slips out of my hold as he rushes toward Emma's bed side, "Emma?!"
