YOUR POV:

"N/N, wake up."

The sound of yelling fills my ears as I open my eyes to find a familiar scene in front of me.

I saw Ray's tree and Grace Field, as well as Ray and me sitting under the tree.

"Hey, get up," Ray says to me.

I take a step forward as my body feels sluggish and heavy. I didn't want to continue forward, but a force was telling me to do so...and so I followed it over to the tree.

This Ray and Y/N couldn't be any older than eight or nine years old. Past Y/N had her head resting on Ray's shoulder with her eyes closed while Ray held a book in his lap.

Ray shoves me, "wake up Y/N."

My past self groaned, "I don't wanna." I protested as I muttered something under my breath.

Ray groans, clearly hearing what I had muttered and decides to shove me off of him. I tumble to the ground with a loud groan of protest. My eyes shoot open as I sit up, "owie!" I frown, "that hurt Ray!"

I couldn't help but notice the smirk on Ray's face, he clearly enjoyed seeing me in pain.

"Meanie," my past self huffs. She then crawls back under the tree but makes sure there's a small distance between herself and Ray.

It's a peaceful silence besides the yelling of the kids in the distance. I couldn't help but look over at the field to find it missing, and replaced by a white void.

My own voice brought me back to reality, "Ray," I begin as I look over at my past self and Ray, "when do you think we'll leave here?"

"Leave..?" Ray asks shutting his book, "I mean, we're all adopted by age twelve."

I nod, "yeah but...doesn't it scare you? You make so many friends here but then...you never see them." I frown, "twelve seems so close."

A silence falls over the two.

"What do you think the outside is like?" My past self finally asks.

Ray hums, "probably scary. Why do you ask?"

"I-I was just thinking about how Emily got adopted yesterday," I shakily say.

"Y/N!" I hear as I look to see Emma rushing out of the white void and over to my past self and Ray, "come play with us!"

My past self hesitates for a moment before nodding and standing up, "sure!" I then rush off with Emma into the void.

I couldn't help but frown at the memory. Emma was so innocent and naive back then...no worries...nothing.

"Are you just going to stand there?" I hear Ray ask.

I jump and look at Ray. I point to myself, "me?"

He smirks playfully, "who else would I be talking about?"

"You can...see me..?"

"Of course I can idiot," he points to his head, "we're on your mind." He then pats the spot beside him, "come sit."

I hesitate for a moment before I walk over to him and sit down, my body still heavy and sluggish.

"You shouldn't be here," he warns.

"Why not?"

"You can't die yet N/N. You haven't made it outside, and I'm sure you'd regret your life if you did so."
