YOUR POV:
Don, Gilda, Ray and I all stood outside the house whilst everyone else was inside. We needed to reconvene about the news we had learned not to long ago.
"She took our rope, Norman is getting shipped out, Emma's leg is broken and she can't move," Don listed, "what're we gonna do now?"
"Emma will heal and we can make another rope," Ray angrily says, "we'll figure it out, but we are escaping. For now, we have to worry about Norman."
I reached over and placed my hand on top of Ray's as he looked at me for a moment. I gave him a soft smile, to let him know that I was here for him and that he wasn't alone.
"But why Norman?" Gilda asks.
Don nods, "yeah! If we taste better with higher scores, then why was Norman shipped out prematurely?"
"Exactly," Ray huffs as he pulls his hand away from mine, "under normal circumstances this wouldn't have happened. First she got rid of Sister Krone, then cut me off and lastly Emma's leg...it was all for this."
"But I-I can't believe it about Sister Krone," Gilda gasps.
"She was fine this morning!" Don adds.
Ray suddenly gets up and makes his way toward the house as we follow behind him in a panic.
"What're we gonna do now?!" Don asks Ray, "At this rate, Norman is going to—!"
Ray turns around and grabs hold of Don's collar, "he'll escape! No matter what!"
"Ray," I call out as my voice barely registers.
He lets go of Don as we enter the house. "We still have a day. He just needs to escape before tomorrow night." Ray then grabs my hand, "we're going to go check on Emma."
Ray pulls me through the halls and up the stairs and into the infirmary. Once inside I rush over to Emma's side, "Emma! H-How are you feeling?!"
She gives me a weak smile, "I'm in pain but I'll be okay."
"Where's Norman at?" Ray asks.
"He's getting me some water," Emma replies.
"Good, I wanted to discuss something with you." Ray says to the injured girl.
"I wanted to talk to you too!" Emma replies.
Ray and Emma discuss and make up a plan for Norman to follow where he'll fake his escape and run away with us on the real escape day. It seemed flawless.
"But guys, Norman probably isn't going to want to do that," I say.
"Well he's not gonna have a choice," Ray and Emma say in unison.
The door to the infirmary opens with a smiling Norman who is holding a glass of water, "Emma!" Norman's smile drops when he sees us.
"We need to talk," Ray begins, "we're not going to let you die. So tomorrow, you'll escape by yourself during the afternoon."
"Sorry but I can't do—."
"Denied!" Ray and Emma chime together.
Ray grabs the glass of water and hands it to Emma. Once she grabs it Ray places now a nearby stool for the boy to sit on.
"More accurately, I want you to fake your escape." Ray clarifies, "you'll nullify the tracking device and pretend to have had escaped. But you'll actually just hide in the area until Emma's leg is healed."
"And on the real escape day, you'll come with us!" Emma adds.
"Once you're 'gone', you can investigate freely and we won't have any problems meeting up with you." Ray continues.
