As soon as I stepped on his floor my heart was beating as if I had run a marathon. But my eyes were awestruck for a moment as his floor had crystal grey tiles that were so clean that I could see my own reflection in that very clearly. Few plants were present in some corners while there was only one desk or I should say a small office where a mid-forty woman was standing while arranging some papers.

Upon my arrival she looked at me with a polite smile just like old people see at the children and then give them a candy.

I was wearing a mustard colord dress while my thick brown hairs were all settled at one side of my neck revealing my long slender neck. Suzi forced me to do the make-up with tint and a same colord gloss. So, I was looking presentable. She couldn’t misunderstand me with a child if we ignore my height which wasn’t so short too.

I gulped as I was now on my own as Imran left from the lift as soon as I stepped on his floor as if he had down his work now the rest of thing was one me. Whether I barge in his office or run backwards because my hands were a little cold thinking about all the negative scenarios in my mind.

“Can I help you?” She asked me politely as I smiled a little forming my words in my mind.

“I want to meet him…Farzan Shah.” I mumbled in a soft voice as she gave me a confused look.

“But do you have any appointment because I didn’t have it on schedule? I can’t let you meet him without any appointment.” She asked and I turned baffled for a second as I didn’t know I had to take appointment for meeting him. Slight sadness erupted in the depth of my heart as I came here after so gathering so much strength but now, I had to go back all in vain.

“Oh…okay.” I was about to turn when the double door at my side opened and revealed a man in his late twenties I guessed because he didn’t seem too old. His eyes fell on me as his face turned into a bright smile with his eyes shining brightly.

“Didn’t expect to see you here.” He clicked his tongue as he scanned me from top to bottom without any shame making me more uncomfortable around these two strangers.

“Do I know you?” I asked as the lady was also looking at both of us in a suspicious way.

“You don’t but I do. Ahmad Hashmi here.” He said as he raised his hand for a shake but I smiled back hesitantly without grabbing it.

“Aysham Zubair.” I introduced myself although I didn’t plan on doing that but that what manners say.

“Great to see you pumpkin. Hope we meet again which we do from now on I guess.” He said as he dropped his hand which he raised for a shake all in vain. With a slight node he left not before bestowing me with a deep glance. He wasn’t looking like a pervert but still there was something off about him.

But I scrunched my nose at the endearment he used as he must be referring me as a pumpkin because of my dress as I didn’t know why people use endearments like that for me.

But you do like butterfly.

My conscience had to meddle in my thoughts as she referred towards the endearment, he was using for me these days and I hadn’t hear that from him for days. I again looked at the lady which was his secretary most probably as I wanted her to let me go inside as I was relived and sad at the same time but I walked all the way here just to step back.

“Can I ask for what reference you came here? Maybe I can ask him if he wants to meet you or not?” She asked with a polite smile as if she had seen the disappointment in my eyes.
