Chapter 21 - Kicked Out

Today is Tuesday of week 7. I'm in math just before the bell is about to ring. Lucinda is getting antsy, she wants to leave. She has a date with Ivan this afternoon, she's been looking forward to it all day. She starts to slowly pack up her stuff, until.
*Bring Bring* Lucinda then shoves the rest of her stuff in her bag.
"See ya, (Y/N)! I'll tell you all about the date tomorrow!" Lucinda chimes then runs off. Lucinda has been hanging out with Ivan a lot, as to be expected when you have a boyfriend. It's been alright though, because it's given me the chance to get to know the other girls better. I've grown close to Katelyn this year, she's really sweet and protective of everyone. Kawaii~Chan is an absolute sweetheart; Tiani really cares about grades, and Aphmau just wants the best for everyone. They're all really good friends now. Even though I'm happy with them I do still miss Zane. We still talk in biology, but it's different. I begin my walk home, then decide to take a detour today. I pass the convenience store to pick up some snacks for myself then head to my destination. The park bench. I enter the park that's near my street and venture through the calming environment until I find our bench. The bench that is currently inhabited. Inhabited by my old friend. It's Zane.
"(Y-Y/N)?" He sniffles.
"Zane? What are you doing crying on the bench?" I ask worried. He jumps up and runs into my arms.
"(Y-Y/N)! I'm so glad you're here!" He blubbers.
"W-what happened?" I inquire as I pull him back to the bench to sit down. We plop down on the bench, and I see his face, it's all red, he must have been crying for ages. I should have come here earlier.
"I-I was kicked out of the shadow nights." He bawls.
"Oh, Zane. It's going to be ok! They're just dumb idiots if they kicked you out. They obviously don't understand you!" I reason. He falls into my shoulder, and I pat him on the back.
"T-they will pay for this" He mumbles in the most menacing voice. His mood change is almost instant. He looks back up at me with a menacing look, which then softens. "Thanks (Y/N). I-I'm sorry I haven't spoken to you much lately... I feel bad. But now I'm out of the shadow nights we can hang out again." He apologises.
"Hey, it's alright! I know you wanted to hang out with them!" I forgive him. He hugs me. It's been too long since I've felt his warmth. I've missed this.
