Chapter 36 - The Game

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It's Saturday of the second week of the school year. While I should be having fun, I'm stuck out in the morning heat at the first soccer game of the season. I come to this game every year, Pheonix Drop High always wins. In my opinion, its thanks to their excellent captain, Laurence.
"Ok, we're going to the change room now, you guys better be cheering me on!" Laurence says.
"Of course we will, we're here EVERY YEAR! Mr Captain of the soccer team." I jest. Laurence rolls his eyes.
"You will be great." Garroth encourages charmingly, as he always does. It makes Laurence blush.
"Thanks guys, I'll see you two after." He smiles, then heads off to the change room to prepare for the game.
"You two are adorable." I blurt.
"Uh, Oh, Um. W-well." Garroth goes bright red. His ability to form coherent sentences melts in an instant. He gives up and looks at the floor. I question my actions.
"H-how about I get us some snacks before the game starts?" I suggest. At least that way I can get out of his hair.
"S-sure. Can I just have hot chips and a poopsi please?" He requests.
"Of course!" I head over to the snack stand and order our snacks.
"Oh, hey, what are you doing here?" A familiar voice calls. I turn around.
"T-Travis?!" I question. "What on earth are you doing here?" I ask.
"Hah, y-yeah. Well, Dante likes to come to all the big sports games each season to try and find cute girls. We all know I'm his wingman soo... here I am." Travis explains, awkwardly. I jokingly glare at him.
"*Sigh*, you two will never change... I'm surprised I've never seen you here though, I come to every important soccer game to support Laurence." I explain.
"Of course. It's sweet you're so supportive of him." He smiles.
"W-well he's practically a brother to me, so I want to support him. Especially in his senior year." I ramble.
"Heh, you're making me wish I had a sibling, of some sort." He says looking at the ground.
"Travis, what about Dante? You two do everything together." I suggest.
"Hah." He laughs, then takes a moment to think about it. "Hm, maybe... Dante is kind of like a brother to me..."
"See, while we may be only children biologically. No one is stopping us from finding the siblings we never had." I chime.
"Thanks (Y/N)!" He smiles. The person at the counter calls my name.
"That's me, I gotta go. I'll see you later!" I farewell.
"Bye!" He returns. I go up to the counter and grab our food. Then head back over to Garroth, who has now recovered from his embarrassment.
"Here you go Garroth!" I cheer, passing him his chips and poopsi. I then sit next to him with my food.
"Thanks!" He smiles.
"I-I'm sorry about before..." I apologise.
"N-no, it's fine. I-I just haven't told him how I feel yet, so I never know what so say." He explains.
"It's fine, just know you two have my full support!" I chime.
"Thanks." He smiles, grabbing a chip out of the carton.
"Everyone get ready for the first game of the season!!!" The announcer yells over the loud speaker. "Everyone welcome the home team Pheonix Drop High!!!" Everyone cheers as they come out onto the field. Garroth and I stand up and scream as loud as we can.
