Chapter 30 - Rest

It's the day after my little hospital trip. I ended up with a broken arm, a badly sprained ankle, a black eye and a lot of bruises. Everything sort of hurts really. The hospital staff said it would be best to take the rest of the week off. So, I basically get a long weekend! I got dismissed from the hospital at midnight. Zane dropped my stuff off after school for me, so I haven't had the chance to tell anyone what happened. Let's hope they don't freak out too much. I jump out of bed, its 9am. Everyone will be at school; I probably shouldn't text them. I hobble over to my school bag, trying to not put too much pressure on my ankle. I open it, looking for my phone. But something else catches my eye, it's a note. I grab it with my phone and walk back over to my bed. It reads:

Hey (Y/N)!

I'm not sure when you will get back from the hospital, but please text me when you do. Don't forget I'm here for you! I'll bring you any homework you get tomorrow if you don't show up. Then, maybe we can hang out for a little while. Take your mind off things. I really am sorry. Really, really, sorry. I should have thought my stupid plan through. Anyway, get some rest.

I put the letter down, and instantly pick up my phone to text Zane.

~Zane :3~

Y – Hey! I just read your note. Thank you! You don't need to apologize though it's not your fault. It was a misunderstanding and I'm all G. I got back from the hospital at midnight, so I jumped right into bed not thinking, I'm sorry if it freaked you out! But I look forward to seeing you this afternoon.

I look back to see my other notifications. I have some from everyone, Aph, Katelyn, Lucinda, Teony, Vylad, Kawaii~Chan, Travis, Dante, Cadenza, Laurence and Garroth. Word must have gotten around them real fast that I had left school. But out of all of them, I have the most from Gene. I decide to check.

~Gene~

G – You all G? Dante said you disappeared after homeroom, and he said an ambulance showed up at some point.

G – Please respond soon!

G – You're freaking me out (Y/N)! If this has anything to do with Zane, I'll kill him!

G – Ok, I'm probably jumping to conclusions... and letting my grudges get in the way of my judgement.

G – PLEASE RESPONDDD!!!!!

I begin to giggle. Gene sure is impatient... but I did leave him on delivered for 12 hours... when he thought I was injured. Ok, fair enough. I decide to text back.

~Gene~

Y – I'm good, there was a little misunderstanding with the jury, and I got caught up in something. It's nothing too bad though, a black eye, a sprained ankle, some bruises and... maybe a broken arm. But I'm fine. Don't worry. I get a long weekend out of it so I'm winning really!

He instantly texts back.

G – Thank Irene! I thought you had died or something. Where do you live? You're probs bored right! I'm coming over!

Y – WTH?!

G – I'm asking Dante for your address.

Y – Well you'll be out of luck he doesn't have my address, my Mum will freak out if a random high school graduate rocks up to her front door.
