Chapter 35 - The Gang Boss's Girlfriend

Today is the first day back at school, I can't believe we're Juniors now. I hope this year is a bit calmer than last year. I still haven't heard from Gene since the Zane encounter, but that isn't something to worry about right now. I get myself ready, walk out the door. Then begin my walk. My first stop, the Ro'Meave's house. I arrive at the gate and wait for them. Zane comes out first, knowing I'd be waiting. He approaches.

"Good morning!" He chimes. "Are you looking forward to today?" He asks.

"Of course!" Today is the day the school gets to know the jury leader has gotten a girlfriend. I've already told the girls, they were all super excited. Zane and I have been planning how we want to go about it for the past week. It was sort of a joke at first then we realised that it probably would be good to go in with a rough plan.

"Let's go." Zane decides, as he gestures to the path. I nod. Zane holds onto my hand, then we walk side by side the whole way to school.

We arrive at the school gate. I see crowds of people preparing themselves to deal with another year of school.

"You ready?" Zane asks.

"Yeah!" I chime, my nerves should die down soon, once our little show is over. Once people know, then I don't need to worry anymore. We walk up the steps, our hands intertwined. We slowly walk over to the jury table. Letting it sink in for everyone, the usual cowering students now have expressions of shock. I feel my face go red. I don't think they would ever imagine a guy like him to get a girlfriend, let alone someone like me. Onto the next step of the plan. We reach the jury table and stand at the end like we usually do, he greets the jury then leans towards me.

"Are you sure you want to go ahead with this part?" He whispers. I smile.

"Of course." I agree. He inches closer and closer. Until he's right in front of me. I close my eyes and we kiss. We break apart and I open my eyes. The first thing that catches my eye is the jury. They are all sitting at the table, eyes open, jaws dropped. They are in complete shock.

"B-Boss?!" One of them asks.

"Do you need a formal introduction?" Zane asks in an annoyed tone. "I thought you would be smart enough to get the hint *Sigh*. You should already know her from last year. Everyone, this is (Y/N), she is my girlfriend."

"H-he has a heart?" One of them asks under their breath.

"Pfft." I stop myself from laughing. Zane's gaze turns to one of disappointment as he glares at the jury. "I can confirm he does." I chirp. He then turns to me, with the same expression. "You can't pretend you don't when you have a girlfriend." I reason. His expression changes to one of understanding.

"Ok, fair enough." He rolls his eye, he turns to the jury. "None of you get any affection though, nothing changes, I just want you to keep her safe if anything happens. Ok?"

"Yes boss!" They respond. We then turn back to smiling, or glaring, at the fellow passing students. He inches closer and places his arm on my shoulders.

"Can I hang out with you in the freshman orientation today?" He asks, looking at me.

"Of course! I have to say there are going to be a few people, with a lot of questions for you." I warn. He just smirks under his mask.

"Heh, it's ok. It's nice they care so much for you." He looks up, and his eye instantly widens. I look up to be met by some of the most shocked and confused expressions I've ever seen, on Travis and Dante.
