❀ Lisa ❀

I never imagined I would see Mingyu as nervous as he was when we arrived at the Kim house. My friend was always the one who got me out of the scrapes I got myself into, the one who helped me whenever I needed it, and above all, the one who always stood by my side. It was only right that I stand by him now.

"Lisa!" Somi's mother's curly hair enveloped me in an enthusiastic hug. "I'm so glad you came!"

Then she turned to Mingyu, who held his breath for a few seconds but was embraced just as warmly.

"You must be Mingyu!" she smiled kindly. "Jisoo told us about you! Welcome! Come in!"

The Kims had a relatively small house compared to the Manoban mansion, but it was cozy and very comfortable. They lived well.

"Hello!" Jisoo appeared in the kitchen. Her mother just glared at her, then walked past without saying anything, leaving us alone.

"Is she okay?" I asked, puzzled by her behavior. I hadn't expected such an enthusiastic reception from her.

"She's usually like that, but it's worse today!" Jisoo shrugged. "Did you and Somi have a fight?" She directed this at Mingyu.

Mingyu furrowed his brows and shook his head. I didn't know anything about a fight either.

"Why?" he asked, visibly worried.

"She told our parents, by herself!" Jisoo was also concerned. "Well, she didn't mention you! Part of why my mom is acting this way is because she's having a meltdown, I think!"

"Where's Somi?" Mingyu asked, more concerned and even more confused.

At that moment, Jennie appeared, bundled up in several jackets against the cold. Her hair was loosely tied, and she wore makeup. Beautiful. I smiled immediately, but she was too worried to react. She just shook her head.

"According to Jennie, she's still locked in her room!" Jisoo continued. "She only said she was pregnant and wouldn't say who the father was because she felt she was just messing up his life! That's why I asked if you two had fought!"

"No!" Mingyu ruffled his hair, which he hadn't cut yet. "She never lets me finish talking!"

"So, you did fight?" Jisoo was skeptical.

"Not yet!" Mingyu took a deep breath. "Where's her room?"

"Follow the stairs; you'll see my dad, my mom, and Bambam standing in front of it!" Jisoo shrugged, smiling. "I can't handle you alone, but you're going to suffer for getting my sister pregnant!"

"Fine, but you'll have to raise my child!" Mingyu said as he started running up the stairs.

"Believe me, he found his courage!" I smiled sideways, and Jisoo responded, then we ran up the stairs to the second floor.

"Mr. and Mrs. Kim, if you'll excuse me!" Mingyu moved the two aside and knocked loudly on the door.

Jennie beside me stifled a laugh.

"Ennik Somi Douma, open this door now!" Mingyu shouted her full name, angry—it was amusing to see him like that. "Somi!"

The door slowly opened. Everyone there was surprised, apparently having tried to get her to open it for some time.

"Are you crazy?" Mingyu yelled. "Where did you get that nonsense you told your parents?"

Somi's face was swollen and red from crying. Jennie moved toward her, but I held her wrist. I realized what I had done and looked at her, waiting for a reaction. But she didn't pull away. I slid my hand into hers, and she smiled faintly.
