After some minutes, maybe even half an hour, I had calmed down again and was able to leave his drivers room. Only as my hand brushed over my waist, the part where he had touched me, it snapped through my head that it was a rule break again.

But Verstappens hand had felt so normal, so good and completely familiar on my body and I already missed it, still with the knowledge in the back of my mind that it was forbidden. But he had done it again, well aware of that, and I freaking liked it.

Somehow I managed to stumbled back down and over to the garage, right in time as the race was about to start.

"Hey, where have you been?" Cathy asked directly as she handed me some headphones.

"I... I just needed some time to calm down again." I returned fully honest, a big grin building up on her face.

"Why?" she asked and raised an eyebrow while smirking at me, "Did something happen between you and your favorite driver?"

"N... No." I stuttered nervously, before I widened my eyes in horror, "And who said he's my favorite driver?"

"It's obvious Charlie, you're in his garage, wearing his colors and you have his signed cap on your nightstand." she giggled.

"It's not on my nightstand." I grumbled but Cathy only laughed at me.

"Also he wants to win this race for you today."

"He told you?!" I asked in horror, but Cathy only started laughing even harder.

"No, but now I know he said that to you." she grinned, "Which means he likes you a lot, because dedicating your home race to someone is very special."

"Whatever." I mumbled as I felt my cheeks blushing, "Better focus on the race."

Luckily Cathy did and we both looked at the big screens in the garage. Nervously I was playing with the rings on fingers as the lights went out and Verstappen went into the first corner. Luckily everything went smooth and a little stone fell from my heart as the start could always be a mess.

It was quite interesting and I never dared to take my eyes off the screens, quietly cheering for Verstappen. In the middle of the race his car than drove into the pitlane and a moment later I saw it right in front the garage.

It was impressive how fast the mechanics could change the tires and before I had the chance to fully look at the car, it was gone again. Verstappen boxed quite late compared to the others as he was going for a overcut, which I had learned from Davide.

The gap between Verstappen and the second car was quite big, still I was holding my fingers crossed and nervously bit my bottom lip. It was crazy how much adrenaline I got from just watching.

I'd never felt anything like that before but it was amazing and I already couldn't wait for the next race I would be at, which was probably the Monaco grand prix next year so quite a bit in the future.

But now I was here and joy overcame me as Verstappen drove over the line first.

"He did it!" I beamed and hugged Cathy, who was also more than happy for him.
