-/- Monaco 2022 - wedding day -/-
Once all the pictures were done, our guests stepped out of the church, congratulating us. As the party would only host our closest friends and family, most of the other people, especially the royals would now made their way back home.
Max and I stood right next to the door to the church, his arm wrapped around my back while his hand laid firmly on my waist, he smiled down at me, his eyes full of pride and love.
"Such a beautiful couple, it was an fabulous ceremony." the Spanish queen said as she and her husband stepped over, shaking our hands.
"Thanks a lot, we really appreciate that." Max returned and gosh I loved how he acted as a prince, as a new-born royal.
"We really do, and thanks so much for the presents." I added as all the guest had send gifts in advance, mostly money, jewelry or even horses and stuff like that.
"I'm really glad that we came." the king said before he lost his smile, "I have to be honest with you. Someone, you probably know, came to me and said that this wedding wasn't right, that it would destroy the royalty and that there were no real intentions involved."
I instantly looked over at Max and of course we knew exactly who he was talking about. My suspicions that this was the reason for his delayed answer were right.
"But I have to say that he was wrong, I have seen so much love today, so many emotions and I can tell you this was by far the most emotional royal wedding I have ever seen." the Spanish king added and his wife only nodded her head in agreement.
We then thanked them again and said our good byes before they stepped away, allowing other guest to come closer. Mostly the royals said their good byes because only the Dutch royal family would be at the party later, being now more or less family.
Also a lot of my far relatives already went home so they said their congratulations and good byes. The last people that stepped out of the church were our families, Luka and Lio running right over at us, hugging our legs.
Max and I laughed and looked at each other before we picked them up so Lio was now sitting on my hip while Luka was in his uncle's arms.
"Now you are a prince too." the older boy beamed and reached out to carefully touch the crown on Max's head.
"Yes I am, together with Charles here, cause we're now married, like your mum and dad." the Dutchman explained to his nephews while I had some water in my eyes.
He was just so amazing with kids that I couldn't wait for the day we would have some. But this also was a difficult topic as there was no chance for our kids to be the next prince or princess of Monaco.
A royal child and future prince or princess had to be royal blood, had to be made by the current royal couple, which in our case, obviously, wasn't possible. Even if I would donate my sperm and a woman would carry out the child, it wouldn't be allowed to be prince or princess.
Like with my half brother Lorenzo, who wasn't fully royal. So there was no chance for that and with marrying Max I more or less ended my family. It was harsh to call it like that, but I destroyed my family, I sacrificed it for my love to him.
"I'm so proud of you, both of you." my mother got me back to reality as she stepped over, hugging us, "My boys, my princes."
Also Jos congratulated us before the whole Verstappen family together with the Leclerc one, made their way to the cars, travelling over to the palace for the celebrations. So at some point Max and I were left behind, only the priest stepped closer, then taking the crowns off us again so they could go back to the safe.
