Max was smiling the whole drive to the restaurant, squeezing my hand every now and then and looking at the ring, while my head was completely empty. I was also happy, for course, but also extremely glad that everything had ended up exactly the way I had planned it.
I didn't loss my voice, Max liked the ring and most important, he said yes, so more perfect isn't possible. We would now have a great dinner before we would go to bed, for the first time as fiances.
"The ring is so beautiful." Max said for the tenth time now, smiling down at it, before he quickly turned towards me, "Where have you bought it?"
"Shouldn't that suppose to stay a secret?" I chuckled in return while Max parked our car in front of the restaurant.
"I don't care about what's suppose to be." the Dutchman laughed, before he pulled the car key out and gave me some puppy eyes, "So please, I wanna know."
"Fine." I smiled and laid my hand on his cheek before I leaned over the middle console to give him a kiss, "I bought it in Italy."
"Hm." was all he returned and even winked at me, before he jumped out of the car, opening the door for me.
A hot feeling went through my body and the butterflies went crazy as he reached his left hand out for me, the one where the diamond ring was prominently sitting on. Gosh, it really looked perfect on his finger.
"If you keep looking at it like that, I get scared that you might want it back." Max joked and I rolled my eyes, quickly grabbing his hand and stepping out of the car.
"Never." I breathed against his lips before I linked my arm in his as we walked inside.
As the restaurant was right next to a little lake, it had a beautiful terrace at the back where the waiter now brought us. It also seemed pretty empty today, that empty that I even asked myself if Max had reserved the whole terrace for us.
The table at the railing had some candles on it, and as the sun had already sat, it all created a really romantic vibe. I smiled once I felt Max's arm around my lower back, guiding me to my seat where he pulled the chair back so I could take a seat before walking around the table to his place.
Once again he looked down at the ring on his finger before he glanced up, his eyes instantly meeting mine.
"I love you." I blurred out, causing Max to smile even more.
"I love you too my prince." he returned before he chuckled and looked at the ring again, "My fiance."
Fiance. God, this word was heavy but also so beautiful and hearing it from Max with his attractive Dutch accent, gosh I was melting. Luckily the waiter then brought some wine and I quickly took a sip, hiding my blushed cheeks in the big wine glass.
But of course Max had seen it, chuckling while he also drank a sip.
"You're so freaking cute, gosh you're amazing." he breathed, laying his hand on the table between us so that I could lay mine in his.
We bother were too stunned and happy from the moments before that we didn't even had the words to communicate right now, so we just starred at each other, wiggling our eyebrows and squeezing our hands.
