My legs started slightly shaking and I felt my hands getting sweaty. I felt my heart heavily beating in my chest and my throat getting all dry as he walked pass his engineers, giving some high fives, on his way to the back of the garage, towards us.

"Hello Max, what a great qualifying, congratulations." Cathy beamed next to me and Verstappen's ocean blue eyes left mine as he looked at her.

"Thank you madam." he returned politely before he shook the hand she was offering her, "It's nice to have you here in the garage with us."

As he then turned towards me, a cold shiver ran down my back and if Cathy's arm wouldn't be linked in mine I would have probably ran away.

"And nice to see you again, prince Charles." Verstappen said in a tone, I couldn't fully interpret.

Cathy slightly bumped into my side, gesturing me to look down. Only there I noticed that Verstappen was offering me his hand for a formal handshake and slowly I rose my arm, immediately seeing how my hand was shaking.

Nervously I grabbed his and the touch was electrifying, a heat rushing through my body and my head snapped up as I felt his fingers wrapping around mine, strongly shaking my hand. Our eyes met once again and everything around seemed to slow down, the time seemed to slow down.

"I hope you enjoyed watching the qualifying." the Dutch slowly said, sounding more like a question.

"I... I did." I stuttered, not sure why he managed it once again to make me all shy and nervous.

But he was good at it and deep down I had to admit that it was extremely hot, having the confident Dutchman right in front of me, holding my hand and knowing that he would keep me safe if something would happen.

"Great." Verstappen returned unimpressed and I started wondering if he even remembered our dinner in Monaco.

"Yeah it's really nice to have the Dutch grand prix back on the calendar, the orange army is absolutely amazing." Cathy said after some awkward moments of silence.

A little smile appeared on Verstappens lips as he turned towards the princess again and I felt a sharp pain in my stomach as he hadn't been smiling at me like that.

"Yeah it's really cool and I see you've prepared for that." he laughed and gestured towards Cathy's orange scarf.

"I did." she giggled before she turned her head towards me, "I already told Charles to get something in orange but he hasn't really payed attention to that."

As I was still looking at Verstappen I saw his smile dropping instantly and he hectically brushed through his hair before quickly looking at me.

"Well, I'm sure your boyfriend will find something for tomorrow." the Dutch said quickly before he added more quietly, "If he even supports me."

"Of course I do." I blurred out as the pain inside me was slowly creeping through my whole body.

Verstappen's head instantly snapped up and his deep blue eyes met mine again, a short smile appearing on his lips before it died again and he shook his head.

"Your princess will surely get you something." he mumbled before he looked over his shoulder towards his engineers.

As I was too overwhelmed to say something, still not sure what his opinion was about me and if he hated me now or if he didn't care at all, Cathy luckily rescued the situation again. I really loved her for that.

"Can you keep a secret, Max?" she quickly said and I saw a little grin on her face.

"What is it?" the Dutch returned a bit confused, hectically looking over his shoulder again, "Because I really need to go now, my engineers are waiting."
