-/- Monaco 2022 - wedding day -/-
My heartbeat stopped when I saw Max stepping through the door, his arm linked with the one of his father. On his face the cute little smile, but he wasn't looking as confident as usual, no, he even seemed a bit overwhelmed, even nervous.
My breathing stuttered while my eyes traveled down his body, over the dark blue wedding suit he was wearing, even a little badge on his left chest. He looked so fine that I fell in love with him all over again.
My hands got sweaty as I saw him walking down the aisle, a little tear running down my cheek as I couldn't believe that this was Max, my husband, my prince, the man that would be on my side forever.
It seemed like ages until he and Jos arrived up front, stopping right next to me.
"Hi." Max breathed and I heard his voice shaking while his eyes showed all his love towards me.
"Hey." I returned at least as quiet as he did before I looked over at Jos.
"Take good care of him, he needs you." the older Dutchman said before he shook my hand and after I had returned a "I will", he walked off, taking a seat right next to his family.
Immediately my eyes were back at Max, still stunned by his outfit and appearance. I lost myself again in his ocean blue eyes and I could have looked into them for the rest of my life, but unfortunately the priest interrupted us.
He started with a cross sign before the organ played and choir started singing. Afterwards all the people took a seat again while Max and I were still standing with our backs to them, looking at the priest right in front of us.
Some general words were spoken and he read some parts from the bible before it was time for the main part of the ceremony, first the wedding. Even though it was not common at royal weddings to have personal vows, we decided to do them.
The priest therefore gave us the sign and I started as I knew that once Max would open his mouth my emotions would overcome me and I wouldn't be able to say a complete sentence afterwards.
"Max, or Verstappen how I used to call you when I met you one and a half year ago. When I walked into your garage I was immediately captivated by you and your confident nature. You managed to turn my head without even doing much." I read off my paper before I looked up at him, the whole church quietly laughing at the last parts.
The Dutchman though offered me a warm smile, curiously waiting for me to go on while he looked at me with so much love and affection that my heart started beating even faster.
"You showed me love on a different level, you showed me the side of life worth living." I continued, not mentioning our rule breaks as whole royal Europe was here today and they surely wouldn't be happy about that.
But the man in front of me was, smiling down at me while my hands started slightly shaking, the paper waving a little while I went on.
"It wasn't always easy, like every relationship there were some ups and downs but we always managed them together, grew stronger with it, together. I love you with all my heart and I never want to leave your side, for the rest of our lives."
I slowly let the paper down, quickly laying it aside before I looked at Max again, who had a tear running down his cheek. It only caused me start crying myself as I had never seen him that vulnerable.
