I woke up on the next morning as I felt someone breathing into my neck. Once again a smile creeped over my lips as I realized that it was Max, the man I was so in love with, that man I had just yesterday told that I was in love with him. And he had returned it.

"Good morning, love." he grumbled and lightly kissed my neck.

A hot shiver ran through my body as his morning voice was really something else, so rough and deep that I was literally melting.

"Hi." I breathed in return, yawning as I was still a bit tired.

The nurse had checked in on me every few hours so sleeping wasn't really possible. I still managed to get some hours, but in the end it all didn't really care as long as I had Max next to me.

"How are you feeling?" the Dutchman asked, brushing through his hair while he leaned back to the other side of the small bed, pulling me with him.

"Better." I returned honestly, aware that it wasn't only the medicine that helped my conditions.

"That's great, how about I br" Max started but suddenly got interrupted as the door of the room opened.

Thinking that it would be the nurse again, I didn't even look over, until I heard a familiar voice.

"Charles, good mor" my mother said, the rest of the sentence getting stuck in her throat as she saw me and Max all cuddled up.

My eyes widened in shock and also Arthur, who was standing next to our mother dropped his jaw.

"It... It's not what it looks like." I blurred out, quickly pulling back from Max, something that was not really possible on the small bed.

To my surprise the shock on my mother's face didn't turn into anger or disappointment, instead a smile laid itself on her lips.

"So I finally have a face to all my assumptions." she beamed and quickly walked around the bed where Max was awkwardly standing up, "I'm Pascale, the princess of Monaco, but you surely know this. What's your name handsome? Even though I have to admit you are a bit familiar to me."

She chuckled and I looked over to Arthur, overwhelmed with her reaction. Same as max like it seemed, but the Dutchman was media trained, more than me, and laughed slightly, before bowing for my mother.

"Y... Yeah, I'm Max Verstappen, I drive for RedBull in Formula one and" he stopped for a moment, looking over at me, before he smiled at my mother again, "I'm your son's boyfriend."

My heart missed a beat as he said those words, fear and pride rushing through my at the same time, my eyes starring at my mother, waiting for her reaction. After a moment her smile grew wider and she pulled Max into a hug.

"I'm so happy for you. I always had the feeling that Charles and women wasn't the perfect match, he surely had found one if it was interested in them. But you are gorgeous and I can see already why my son likes you, I'm so happy for you two." she beamed and without intention I rolled my eyes.

My mother had always been chilled with the rules and stuff like that, but she wasn't around much as she mostly spend her times in different countries, talking to people, doing projects in various countries.
