"Good color choice." Davide nudged me as we were standing in my room.
Today was Sunday and as we had more time than yesterday I was trying to look presentable, also because it was the race day and I wanted to support the royal family's country. We would also be there for the anthem so we all had to look all dressed up.
In the huge closet in my room I had looked through all the ties as I wasn't sure what color to pick for my black suit, but than a certain piece of cloth captured my attention, a beautiful orange tie. Immediately I had thought back at yesterday and Verstappens cute smile as I had his cap on my head.
I wanted to see this again, him looking at me like that and therefore this tie would be definitely the best choice for today.
"You know, don't you?" I returned as Davide was helping me with the tie around my neck.
Yesterday we had only seen each other at dinner and also this morning the Frenchman hadn't said anything about his looks and knowledge.
"I do." he returned with a calm voice before he stopped the working with his hands and looked up into my eyes, "But I don't judge you and as long as you don't wanna talk about what is going on between you two, it's fine and I accept it. Also I won't tell anyone, of course."
"Thanks Davide." I mumbled before I nervously brushed through my hair, "To be fair I don't even know myself what's going on. I just like him, I guess, but it's all so difficult."
I then gave him a quick overview over the things that had happened in the last weeks, especially our date and of course he was happy for me. Still he said that I should choose wisely as I wasn't just an anonym person, I was still the prince of Monaco.
"But it's your last day here after all so please enjoy it." Davide said as he gave me the final go.
I took one last look into the mirror before I grabbed my watch and sunglasses. My look fell on the orange cap with Verstappen's signature that was laying right next to my phone. I decided not to take it today as I was scared to loose it and that was the last thing I wanted.
Maybe it was a bit delusional but if this weekend would be over than at least I would have his cap, with me in Monaco, the cap that carried all my emotions and our little interactions of yesterday.
When I stepped through the front entrance I saw the royal family already waiting and Cathy's jaw dropped a little as she saw my tie before she started smiling.
"You look great my son, fitting right into the Dutch tradition." the king laughed as he patted my shoulder.
"He will definitely go crazy over this." Cathy giggled as I followed her over to our car.
"I just thought I pick something orange so you won't mock me about it again." I tried to brush it off while I felt my cheeks getting red.
"Sure, so it has nothing to do with a certain driver that happens to be Dutch?"
She smirked and I only returned a sarcastic mad look. Luckily the rest of the drive was filled with Cathy telling me something about the race and how she loved racing cars and the atmosphere at such events.
