"She published some of our chats!" Max hissed, the anger in his voice clear while his hands grip onto the steering wheel, eyes straight onto the road.
"What? Who?" I asked and started panicking.
"Kelly, it must be her, she was the only one who had access to my phone in my drivers room."
"W... What?" I repeated, still couldn't believe what was happening, "What did she publish?"
But Max ignored me this time, only grumbling something while he drove into the garage of his apartment complex. My whole body was frozen but at the same time so many feelings rushed through me, mostly panic.
I also felt some tears developing in the corner of my eyes and I looked over at Max, but the Dutchman had no emotions in his face, only parked the car and jumped out. I was too overwhelmed with the situation and scared he would leave me alone.
But to my surprise he walked around the car and opened the door for me, like he always did.
"Hurry up, my father's already here." was all he said, not even really looking at me.
I stumbled out of the car, closing the door before I quickly followed him over to the elevator. Inside Max was constantly looking at his phone, his face not really giving away what he was seeing or reading.
When we stopped at his floor and stepped out, I instantly saw a man standing in front of his door, his father.
"Max." he said as soon as he saw us, "I came here as fast as I could."
"It's fine." was all the younger Dutchman returned as he opened his door.
His father followed him inside while I still stood on the corridor, not sure if I should also step inside or if he even wanted me here. The tears were closed but the moment before the first one could ran down, I heard Max's voice.
"What are you waiting for?" he said coldly, gesturing me to step inside, "You're also part of this so please come in."
I only nodded my head, suddenly a bit scared of him as I followed his instructions. Inside I took of my shoes when I noticed the eyes of his father on me. Max also noticed it and sighed.
"Dad, this is Charles Leclerc, crown prince of Monaco." the Dutchman said before he walked over to his kitchen.
"I thought I know you from somewhere. It's nice to meet you prince Charles, I'm Jos." the older man returned and even a little smile could be seen on his face.
I was confused as I only had read stories about Jos where he wasn't welcoming and friendly.
"So... you're Max's..." Jos started, not sure what to say as he didn't want to over step something.
"H... His..." I stuttered, scared that Max would get angry with me if I say the wrong thing.
"He's the one it's about." the younger Dutchman said as he came back from the kitchen, painfully smiling at me, "He's my boyfriend."
A warm feeling spread in my stomach as this was the first time he said it out loud, the first time we confessed in front of someone else that we were together. Scared I looked over at Jos, expecting some hate or disgust, but he only smiled slightly.
"Here, I brought you a glass of water." Max whispered as he handed me the water glass he had brought from the kitchen.
This man was just so attentive but at the same time giving me the cold shoulder and making me feel completely shit.
