-/- Monaco 2022 - race day -/-
"I really can't believe that one year back you were all nervous going to the race and had no idea who the drivers were and now one of them is your boyfriend and will soon be your husband and the prince of Monaco along your side." Davide laughed and shook his head in disbelieve while he helped me with my suit.
"Yes, it's crazy." I mumbled and glanced through the open door to Max's dressing room where he and his assistant were.
Yes, he of course also got one, for now only for such events like today, but if he would move in here after the wedding, this would be his right hand, like Davide was mine. Even if the Dutchman wasn't a big fan of that, always telling me that he was fine and didn't need a butler.
"I proud of you though." the Frenchman said as he turned me around, fixing my tie, "After everything that happened, especially with your dad and then your relationship and the upcoming wedding, you manage everything so easily."
I sighed and closed my eyes for a moment.
"I still struggle a lot." I returned honestly, "But Max helps me with everything, he's there for me and I couldn't ask for more, he's perfect."
My look fell on Davide, who simply smiled at me, glancing over my shoulder through the door where the Dutchman was.
"Even if I have to say everything was quite unexpected at first, I'm happy for you two, you deserve it and I really can't wait for the wedding." the Frenchman beamed and I also had to chuckle.
"Yeah, this will be quite an event, hu?"
"Definitely." Davide returned before he gestured me to step over to the mirror to take a look at myself.
The suit looked once again great and I thanked Davide, who then walked out of the room. I sighed when I put on the little pin with the flag of Monaco as this tiny piece of jewelry had once belonged to my father.
I hadn't had the best childhood, no question, but of course there were also nice memories of him, even if these very not too many. He had still been my father and a tiny bit of me also missed him every now and then.
But then I thought of Max again and his hate towards him and these feelings disappeared as I simply couldn't tolerate it, him hating my boyfriend, my soulmate, the love of my life. Speaking of, I turned away from the mirror and walked through the door into the other dressing room.
Max was facing his back towards me, but his assistant, who was currently standing in front of him, helping with the bow tie, saw me and smiled, before he bowed and left the room. The Dutchman looked after him confused, before he shrugged a little as he felt my hand on his shoulder.
"You look stunning babe." I breathed as I stepped in front, fixing his bow tie before looking up, instantly meeting his ocean blue eyes.
"You're the one speaking, look at you my love. The stunning prince of Monaco." Max whispered before he closed the gap between our lips.
We then walked down the stairs, my arm linked in his, stepping outside at the entrance where the guest would soon arrive. I hoped that it wouldn't be awkward as all these people where motor sport related and seeing Max now here next to me was surely strange for them, especially because he wasn't today's winner.
