"Have a nice evening my son." my father said and patted my shoulder while Cathy and Arthur were already in the car.
"I will." I returned, not really enthusiastic because he still wanted me to ask Cathy to marry me.
But this dinner now was better then nothing and while I walked over to the car I felt how the butterflies in my stomach started rushing through. I would see Max again in less than an hour and I couldn't wait for it.
He was by the way totally fine with Cathy and Arthur joining us and he fully understood that this was the only chance we could see each other.
"Ready to see your man again?" Cathy giggled as I climbed onto the backseat next to her, Arthur in the front while our driver was behind the steering wheel.
In the car behind we had 3 securties as with Cathy there was a person more to protect, even though I hated it. As last time we all knew what happened as they told my father about going to dinner with Max. At least this time he knew the Dutchman would be there. Only that he didn't know in which connection we were, luckily because he would surely didn't let me out of the palace anymore if he knew.
"Guess what I have for you?" Cathy giggled and suddenly pulled out a bunch of roses.
It was a bit different from the one I had given her, but it was even more beautiful. Orange details are added with some differnt flower types but the main part was still build from red roses.
"It's stunning." I stuttered, my hands shaking because I was too overwhelmed, tears in my eyes.
"Since I had to take the one you made I thought I'll make another one for you so you still have something for him." she smiled and I could only hear Arthur giggling in the front.
"T... Thanks, it's beautiful." I mumbled while taking the flowers.
"As is the couple sharing it."
"We're not a couple." I instantly returned, looking up from the flowers, before I mumbled a, "Yet."
God, I was extremely nervous even though I had planned this evening for days now. But my original plan of having dinner and asking him was now a bit complex as we had three securities with us and of course Arthur and Cathy were here.
We then reached the restaurant and as we were quite early we already entered it, the friendly waiter showing us the private terrace where nobody would see us. Luckily the securities agreed on waiting outside the restaurant, after Cathy had really made clear to them who the princess was.
I loved her for that, for everything she had done today because without her I surely wouldn't be sitting here right now.
"Like a double date." Arthur laughed as we took a seat.
"Yeah right, except that you would never find a girl with who you spend more than a day with, we know you." I mocked him and we laughed, Cathy though not even smiling.
"I broke up with my boyfriend." she suddenly blurred out and immediately my face froze.
"What? Why? You really loved him I thought?" I said calmly, laying a hand on her arm to show her my support.
"I did, but he just wanted to get into the palace, and my pants so I kinda dumped him." she explained and Arthur immediately cheered.
"That's ma girl, good job." he said and offered Cathy a high five that she took, a smile on her face.
"Mate, you are literally the same with girls, don't pretend to suddenly be a gentleman." I sighed and annoyed rolled my eyes.
"Oh no, that's your job brother, I'm in this family for the fun part." he laughed and even Cathy smiled at which I could only roll my eyes.
