Happy Birthday, by the way.

Mattheos words haunted me for the next two days.

You think you're still worth fighting for? You're nothing but a memory...

I'm not holding on to you. I'm done with you.

You don't know what I'm capable of, but I'm willing to show you.

So cruel, so precise. It was clear he was saying then to hurt me, to steer me away from him. Perhaps to even get a rise out of me.

But his eyes already said everything his mouth did not. I saw the look in his eyes. When he touched me. When I touched him. When he spoke those words. I saw him in there, it may have taken me a day or two to realize it. But he is in there, and he needs my help to get him out.

Just like I've always promised him I would.

Instead I've abandoned him, for two months. And from the hurt in his voice, in his eyes. I don't think I'll ever forgive my self.

Instead I was pitying myself, making a complete fool and not even trying to figure out what had gone wrong.

And worst of all?

I was ready to walk away.

Throw it away.

Throw us away.

No.

I would try. No matter how far he pushed me, how deep his words cut, I never wanted him, or any one, to say I never tried.

"I need a good dress, Pansy. Not just any dress." I scoffed, as she held up probably the ugliest thing I have ever seen.

"For him? A waste if you ask me." She rolled her eyes, "are we forgetting he choked you? You told me just two days ago he grabbed your wrist and threatened you again!"

"Lower your voice!" I snapped, pulling her in closer in the small shop in hogsmeade, "he didn't threaten me, he simply challenged me. I'm telling you pans, he is in there. He needs me."

"You sound ridiculous!" She dryly laughed.

"I'll try one more time, and if he does anything again I'll give up," I huffed, browsing through the clothing racks, "I just need to try... you didn't tell Theo he grabbed me again right?!" I quickly turned to her.

"No!" She looked insulted, "but he is worried about you, yn. Your sudden turn around, and your demands for a party, he's scared."

"It's all part of a bigger plan, pans." I walked closer to her, "it's not sudden. It was like a wake up. I know what I need to do."

"If you say so, I just really don't want to see you so hurt again," she looked down, "but I can't imagine anyone looking ugly crying in this..." her face light up as she held up the most perfect dress.
