"Lilly, don't you think you're being too hash?" Alicent stepped in, grabbing Rhaenyra's hand.
"Because of her lies, Alicent, my own husband threatened to hang me in front of my own children if I ever lie to him again for her, even though I didn't lie, as I was made to believe I was defending her against the lies and rumors only for them to come true," she spat.
"I am facing the consequences of my actions. I am being married to Laenor Velaryon. Is that not enough, Lilly?" Rhaenyra asked, making her laugh.
"Enough; are you truly that stupid? Wow, you are being faced with the consequences of our own actions and being arranged to marry a good man," Lilly sarcastically said, throwing her hands up.
"Lilly-"
"My name is Lillian; my friends and my family call me Lilly, and I do not see you as that anymore, Princess. You are to address me as your grace, and only that. I refuse to be betrayed and lied to anymore. Now get the hell out of my chambers." Lillian spoke clearly and sternly, making the girl freeze.
"Lil, your grace, please. I am sorry."
"I could have forgiven the lies if you had expressed your fears, but the words you uttered just moments ago are unforgivable. Your other actions are unforgivable. I do not wish to hear anything else from you. Now get out."
Rhaenyra stood frozen with tears in her eyes as she looked at the young girl, hating herself because she was the only one to blame for this because she made too many mistakes.
"Very well, your grace," she whispered before leaving the room. Alicent followed closely, reaching the now-closed door before stopping when she heard her sister's voice, making her turn around.
"choose"
"What do you mean?" Alicent questioned.
"If you walk out that door right now, you choose Rhaenyra; you choose a friend over your own sister; you have always stuck by her and not me, so make your choice." Lillian said
"Lilly, or should I say Lillian?"
"Lillian is just fine. Lilly is a child's nickname, and I am no longer a child. You two have made sure that I am aware of that fact. I refuse to be hurt any longer by you, Rhaenyra, or anyone else if I can help it, so choose." Lillian answered that she couldn't continue to be naive and innocent. This was a twisted game—a game she must survive if not win. She needed to protect her children.
"Very well, your grace," Alicent whispered before walking out of the room, flinching when she heard the sound of shattering glass and an angry scream come from the room, making her look back at the door as did everyone in the hall before she continued to walk. She made her choice. Rhaenyra, the girl who has always been there

"Alicent, is everything alright? What did she say to you?" Rhaenyra questioned immediately as soon as Alicent walked into her chambers.
"I am fine, Rhaenyra. She gave me a choice," Alicent said, picking at her hand.
"a choice?" Rhaenyra was questioned as the brunette nodded.
"Yes, her or you; shall I support her or shall I support you?" she told her friend, who was shocked before her face fell.
"So I suppose you are here to tell me we are no longer friends or anything." Rhaenyra said, tearing up, stepping back, and looking down.
"No, I was wondering if you wished to go for a walk in the gardens; I chose you, not her." Alicent admitted quietly
"You chose me over your own sister," Rhaenyra stated in shock.
