Iris's Pov:-

My home was charming. Tall windows, framed by plush curtains, offered a glimpse of the comfortable interior. The scent of blooming flowers filled the air. Polished marble floors, chandeliers, and artwork decorated the rooms. Outside, a blue pool shimmered in the sunlight, bordered by comfortable patio furniture and well-kept bushes, creating an inviting atmosphere.

My gaze remained glued to the TV in the living room, the newscaster's voice a distant hum as my mind struggled to absorb the information.

The swinging door creaked open, bringing whispers and the clatter of dishes as dinner prep went on.

"What have you done again, your father looked extremely angry?"Mom asked with a worried expression.

Elizabeth Astor, has a soft, nurturing face, with kind eyes that radiate warmth and understanding. Lines of experience and wisdom gently etch her features, while her smile, though perhaps tinged with traces of worry or laughter lines, is always genuine and comforting. Her hair, streaked with silver or gracefully pulled back, frames her face with a sense of grace and maturity.

"When is he not angry with me?" I said dryly.

My relationship with my dad is a blank slate. There's nothing positive or negative to tell about, because I just don't care.

"You need to understand that he is your father, Princess", she muttered.

"And he needs to understand that I'm his daughter not his enemy", I replied in a frustrated tone.

"You---- Mom's words are cut short when we hear footsteps approaching from upstairs.

Dad headed downstairs in the same suit he had worn to the meeting.

Henry Astor looked much younger than his fifty-five years, with a few silver strands in his black hair. He always wore a perfectly pressed suit, giving off a gentlemanly vibe, but there was more to him beneath the surface.

"Dinner is almost ready so let's have it", Mom said

"I need to speak with Iris in my office immediately", Dad snapped, his voice sharp and commanding. Without waiting for a response, he turned on his heel and briskly headed toward his office, leaving no room for an argument.

I followed closely behind him, my heart pounding with each step. As I made my way towards his office, I could feel my hands growing increasingly clammy with nervous anticipation.

Dad's office was a cozy retreat, tucked away in a quiet corner of the house. A sturdy desk sat against the wall, its surface adorned with a drift of papers. A sleek laptop gleamed beside them. Shelves lined with books and mementos added a personal touch, their worn spines and unique trinkets whispering stories of past experiences. A comfortable chair, upholstered in a warm inviting fabric, sat opposite the desk, beckoning one to sink in and lose themselves in focused work or quiet contemplation.

Dad sits in his chair with a dark expression on his face. His voice was edgy and filled with anger when he asked, "Why the hell would you do that, Iris?"

"Because that deal is too Risky, Dad. We can't afford to take such a gamble with the company's future".

"I've been in this Industry for decades. I know what I'm doing", My Father snapped.

Astor group is one of the most successful billionaire companies in the country. It's influence extending across industries and continents. My father was the chairman of the Astor group, the Multi-billion company he founded a decade ago. I'm the CEO and his only heiress, poised to inherit not just his wealth, but also the responsibility of carrying forward his legacy.

"And I respect your experience, Dad, but times are changing. We need to proceed with caution, not recklessness", I responded.

"I'll think about it, then we will talk", Dad said calmly.

"Fine", I said dryly before leaving but Dad's voice stopped me.

"We have an Important meeting Tomorrow with all the board members, so don't be late".

"Meeting", I asked curiously "you haven't said anything about a meeting, Dad".

"You will find out all about it tomorrow", Dad responded, his tone hinting at a mixture of anticipation and amusement. "Now, go to sleep; tomorrow is a big day for us", he added with a slight smile.

I left his office and headed straight to my bedroom, my mind racing with thoughts about the mysterious meeting. As I climbed into bed, an uneasy feeling settled over me. With a mixture of anxiety and anticipation, I lay there, staring at the ceiling, with a feeling that whatever this meeting is all about, it will Flip my world upside down.
