I was holding Adrain tightly, listening to him. My head was resting on his shoulder, and his arm was wrapped around me protectively. I could feel the warmth of his body against mine, and the steady rhythm of his heartbeat was a comforting sound.
I wish I could freeze this moment and stay here forever. But in reality, the information Adrain is giving me is tearing me apart inside.
"I can't believe he's doing this to me. How can he try to fix my marriage without even asking me? Everytime I think it can't get worse, he proves me wrong", I said with a frustrated sigh.
Adrain already told me he knows the truth about the shadow file after overhearing Dad at the party, but he heard something else too-something that broke my heart. After our passionate fucking session, Adrain revealed that Dad has arranged my marriage to his friend's son.
The news hit me hard that I can't even process it. I'm devasted and can't understand how my own father could do this to me.
"Your father is worse than you think, Lioness. But his biggest mistake is thinking he can separate us. I'll show him just how wrong he is", Adrain said, his voice low and menacing.
A shiver ran down my spine as his dark, menacing voice filled the room. God, Adrian could be scary sometimes. But not with me, I think I'm the only one he treats differently from others. He treats me with love, respect, and care. And I wouldn't want anything more.
"What are you going to do?" I asked curiously.
"I'm not going to deal with your father, Iris", Adrain said calmly, his voice steady.
He won't do anything to Dad; he won't plan against him. It's not that I want him to take revenge; if he chooses to that's fine, if he doesn't, that's fine too. The choice is entirely his since he is the one who endured Dad’s shit.
I suffered too. I know that if it were up to me. I would have done something to make Dad understand how badly he hurt me. Although our father-daughter relationship wasn't extremely loving, I am his daughter, and what he did was completely unacceptable.
How can a father do something like this? I used to wonder how anyone's own father could act this way when I heard others talk about it. Now I understand what it feels like, and I never wanted to experience this myself.
"Why?" I asked curiously.
"Because it’s your decision, lioness. I know he’s done a lot to sabotage me, but what he did to you is unforgivable. You need to decide what to do with him—or rather, what you need to do now,” Adrian said, his voice both edgy and calm.
I looked up at him and met his softening gaze. I longed to kiss him deeply to express how grateful I am for him.
Dad tried to steal his important files, break us apart, and bring him down. Despite all this, he is stepping aside and letting me handle Dad because he understands that while what Dad did to him was unbearable, what he did to me was unforgivable. He knows how deeply I’ve been hurt by Dad’s actions, which is why he’s leaving it up to me to deal with him. I appreciate and I am thankful for that.
“Think about it, lioness,” he said, gently tapping my head. “As for Sebastian, I’ve already planned his downfall. With a single click, that fucker will learn what happens if he dares to touch, let alone look at what’s mine,” he added, his voice dark and menacing. Wow, Adrian can be truly dangerous at times.
“What are you going to do?” I asked, my tone amused. Why on earth am I finding this amusing?
“Watch,” Adrian said, pulling out his phone. He pressed a few buttons and set it down, his wicked smirk sending shivers down my spine.
"Wait for a few minutes", Adrian said calmly.
After 15 minutes, our phone started buzzing. I checked it and found thousands of articles about Sebastian’s company. Adrian had exposed all his dirty deeds to the world. I knew Adrian was capable of this, but seeing it firsthand is different. I don’t despise it; it’s part of who he is, and I love every aspect of him.
I looked at Adrian and found him staring at me with a smile. “Liked it?” he asked, amused, with a smirk on his face.
“Yup,” I said, nodding with a smile of my own, which made him grin even more widely.
Adrian has done his part. Now it’s my turn to move the pieces, and I will make sure I win.
