Iris's Pov:-
I clicked the pen in frustration against the mountain of paperwork.
"I can't believe he did this just because of some stupid deal", Helen said in a frustrated tone.
"Ugh, tell me about it! This is giving me a migraine", I sighed.
"Do you need any medicine?" Helen asked in a concerning tone.
"Medicine won't help; I need to murder someone to get satisfaction", I said in a dark tone.
"Ahhh, well I know who you need to murder", Helen said teasingly.
"Ofcourse you know, Let's do it then", I said grabbing my coat.
"Wait-wait, what do you mean by that? Are we really going to do it", Helen face paled.
"Not we, I will do it", I said with a cunning smile.
"No-No, Are you really going to murder Adrain".
"Not Murder, I am going to make him realise that if he moves his pawns, I will move mine too", I muttered before leaving my office.
Adrian's Pov:-
I leaned back in my chair smirking.
"That was some Good Move, King", Bennett said while smiling.
People often refer to me as the king, and it's not just a nickname—they call me that because I dominate the chessboard that everyone is playing on.
"I always make a Good move, Bennett", I smirked.
"Astor Group must be in a chaos", Bennett said.
"They should for what they did", I replied.
"Sir, Ms. Astor is coming here and she's furious. I wasn't able to dissuade her", Cade my bodyguard appeared in my office and informed.
"No problem, Let her come in", I said.
"Okay, Boss", Cage disappeared from my sight.
Iris stormed into my office with a fury, but something else entirely occupied my mind.
Cascading dark hair framed her classically beautiful face, her intelligent hazel eyes sparkling with surprising wit. She is beautiful.
For fuck's sake get hold of yourself. She is your enemy.
"Bennett", I nod in his direction.
Bennett understood the instruction and exited my office, leaving Iris and me alone.
"So Ms. Astor, How can I help you? I asked.
"Help? You have already done enough help Mr. Russo; Thankyou for your kindness", She replied in a frustrated tone.
"You're welcome. I appreciate your recognition of my kindness", I smirked.
"Cut the crap. Why the hell did you do that and how", she asked angrily. Her anger was fierce like a lioness ready to pounce.
"You definitely know why I did that, but for the method, that's not the information you need, Lioness".
"Excuse me?" She inquired, her face a canvas of confusion.
"What?" I asked innocently.
"You can't simply act as you please, and what have you done is completely unacceptable", She snapped.
"And what you've done is utterly unacceptable. What were you thinking, blackmailing William and interfering with my deal?".
"I didn't want------- and even if I'm dealing with him, that doesn't give you right to disclose my company's private information like that", Iris said in a frustrated tone.
"That's where you're mistaken. I can do as I please with those who attempt to undermine me. You've initiated a war yourself, and now you must face its repercussions", I Said in a dark tone.
"Fine if that's what you want, a war it is. Let's do this".
"I don't allow anyone to win the game I play, Ms. Astor", I said while smirking.
"And I don't allow anyone to defeat me in the game I play, Mr. Russo", Iris uttered before striding out of the office.
I leaned back in my chair staring at the ceiling.
"THIS IS GOING TO BE FUN".
