Adrain's pov:-
The rising sun bathed the room in a warm glow, casting the sharp outline of the window from onto the opposite wall.
The gentle rise and fall of Iris's breath fills the silence as she sleeps in my arms.
God, she's breathtaking.
My feet grazed the rug.
I have to deal with William today, fucker escaped my wrath yesterday but it's time to deal with him.
Lost in thought as I savored my coffee, I was startled by Iris's soft voice asking from behind, "Where are you going?"
"I'm going to take care of William", I said in a dark and edgy tone.
With a worried frown, Iris Swallowed and spoke softly, "what are you going to do to him?"
"Whatever he deserves", I stated with a menacing tone.
She looked at me with a glint in her eyes. Something unreadable but undeniably captivating.
I nodded at the array of covered plates on the kitchen Island, "I have prepared breakfast for you please eat it up okay and My bodyguards are on standby outside if you need anything. Keep your phone with you at all times and call me right away if anything feels off, okay Lioness".
"Okay, understood", She nodded.
"I'll come soon", I leaned down, pressing a soft kiss to her forehead, before turning and leaving the penthouse.
"If she needs anything, be sure to assist her", I said to my bodyguards.
I bypassed the traffic and reached the office building quickly. From there, I node my way to the hidden basement where William was being held.
"Hello William", I studied him. Heavy cuffs held his arms and legs outstretched against the wall, his palms pinned with nails. Dark bruises marred his skin, a disturbing pattern across his body.
My gaze flickered to the floor. A small pool of blood stained the smooth gray concrete.
He glared at me a harsh look that barely held together. He still has some fight left in him.
Good.
"You must be experiencing lot of pain, William", My tone was light, almost conversational as my gaze swept across the instruments of pain arrayed on the table. A dozen blades, each a symphony of silent violence, lay displayed. Brass knuckles gleamed with a cold promise.
Screwdrivers, whips, nails, hooks......... the options seemed endless. A slow smile played on my lips as I tapped finger on the table. "Hmm, choices, choices", I murmured.
I reached for a blade. Knives, I'd always had a thing for them, the glint of polished steel a language I understood better than most.
The tip of the blade hovered, a silver of cold fear reflected in William's wide eyes. Then with a sickening thud, I played the blade deep. A primal scream, raw and inhuman, erupted from his throat, cut short only by a ragged gasp as I tore the steel free. A crimson blossomed on his pale flesh, staining the air with the metallic tang of blood.
"You hurt what's mine, William. And Iris? That's a mistake you'll pay dearly for. You've awakened a darkness within me and trust me you won't like it".
Blood stain, Terrified eyes
Control? It shattered the moment I envisioned the terror in her eyes. A darkness I barely control stirred within me.
I shoved the blade back in, no mercy.
"Please" William gasped, "I'm sorry, I...." Tears ran down his cheeks and dripped down his chin.
"What would you have done had I not showed up? Killed her? " I asked in a dark tone.
"No, No....." William cried like a fucking child.
My control shattered like a mirror.
I picked up my gun
Three shots, each one a death knell. William went slack, his struggle ending with a final, shuddering breath.
I left the basement while my men swooped in to clean up the mess.
I need to go home to Iris.
William learned his lesson, and from now on, anyone who dares to hurt her will learn that---
Touch what's mine, and you'll face the consequences. Fires and fury rain down on those who dare.
