Iris's Pov:-

This morning, I woke up to an overwhelming number of messages and calls from people whose names and faces I don't even recognize or recall.

The more calls and messages I receive, the more panicked I become.

I got ready and drove to the office like a storm, skipping breakfast because I couldn't eat or think straight. My mom tried to reassure me, saying everything would be okay and that I didn't need to worry so much, but her face was drained and full of concern. Still, she did her best to console me. Mothers, you know.

I asked Mom where Dad was, but she said he had left early and didn't know where he went. He's not even answering my calls. He should be here to guide me. He always claimed the Astor Group was his company, so he should be here now that it's falling apart.

A swarm of cameras and reporters greeted me at the office building today. Thankfully, I managed to slip in through an emergency entrance.

Pushing open the Cabin door, I found Helen already waiting, a flicker of concern in her eyes.

"Dude, my phone's blowing up with calls and texts from the media! They're even camping outside the office. Any idea who the hell started this whole mess?" Helen asked.

"I don't know who the hell did this. Anyway, did our team at least take down the stuff from the site?" I questioned in a concerned tone..

"Yes, everything has been taken down", Helen assured.

"Thank God, at least the damage is contained. Now we need to deal with it," I sighed.

The Damage. The damage has been severe. Our company's private information was leaked on a site, causing significant harm. While our team has hopefully managed to take the information down, we are uncertain how many people have already accessed our secrets.

Whoever is responsible for this will face Consequences, and I will ensure it happens.

"Don't worry, Iris, every thing will be fine", Helen said in a calm tone.

I was just about to respond to her when Dad stormed into my office as if he were on fire.

"Helen I need to speak with Iris privately", Dad said to Helen.

"Sure, sir", Helen replied before exiting my office.

"Dad, where were you? I have been calling you like crazy and you're not picking up my calls?" I asked.

"I was working on finding a solution to this entire situation", Dad replied.

"We can't just find a solution; We need to take immediate action, Dad. We must find out the person responsible for this and pursue legal action against them. Their audacity to do this is unacceptable", I said angrily.

"We can't take any action against him or we will be in more trouble", Dad sighed.

"Dad, do you know who was behind this? Please tell me who did this".

"Adrain Russo, That fucker is responsible for all this mess", Dad said.

Dad's words barely registered with me as a flood of questions rushed into my mind. Why would he do this? What is his motive behind it? Did he really do this to gain an advantage over me?"

"Why would he do this, Dad? I mean, Why?"

"Had I known he would react like this, I wouldn't have suggested that deal to you", Dad muttered.

"What deal?" I asked.

"The deal with William. Adrain never allowed anyone to deal with William before, as he has been handling it for five years. My--- I mean your involvement is the reason he is all worked up", Dad responded.

"What? Dad, so Adrian was already dealing with William and yet you forced me to blackmail him? Why would you do that?"

"I didn't know William would tell him and that he would react like this. Anyways, now we have to figure out a way to handle Adrain, or else all my planning will be ruined", Dad said.

"No, I'll not do anything, Dad. You created this mess, so you'll have to solve it", I shouted before storming out of the office.

"Iris------

With a heavy heart, I turned away from my father's demands. He'd thrust me into a war with Adrian, the outcome, win or lose, was a terrifying unknown.
