Adrain's pov:-

I waited a whole month for this moment- the one where you feel truly alive, like you've been revived from the dead, and all the happiness floods in at once.

My mouth captured hers in a fierce, deep kiss, as if we were both gasping for air and the other was our lifeline. I kissed her as though she might vanish if I didn't hold on.

No, I won't let her go this time. I'll make sure to hold on to her, even if she tries to leave.

I nipped at her bottom lip and a moan escaped her lips, sending a jolt straight to my cock.
God I fucking missed her.
A month without her drove me completely mad.

She quickly turned away from me, her expression a mix of confusion and pain.

It's agonizing, right here in my heart, to see her in pain- pain that I caused, despite never intending to. Fuck I would kill myself before I ever hurt her again.

"Stay away from me! What the hell are you doing here?" Iris demanded angrily.

Why am I here? The truth is I'm the reason we're standing here.

I planned this whole surprise thing. I asked Helen to help me trick Iris into coming here by telling her there was a surprise waiting. I knew Iris wouldn't come if she knew I was the surprise, so I had to come up with this plan. Luckily it worked.

When I learned the truth that Henry had deceived me into believing Iris was part of his scheme, I nearly lost my mind. I was on the verge of killing him but managed to hold myself back.

He doesn't matter, Iris does.

She is the only one who matters.

So here I stand before her, hoping that the one person who truly matter to me will forgive me and return to my life. I can't live without her; I can barely breathe when she's not near. A month without her was pure agony, and I'll do everything in my power to ensure that we never part ways again.

"What am I doing here?" I mocked. "I'm your surprise, lioness".

Her eyes widened in disbelief, eyebrows arched to the heavens. I loved the look on her face- the same predatory glint that always preceded her pounce. It filled me with pride. My lioness. This was truly my lioness.

"What the hell do you want and why did you trick me into coming? I don't want to talk to you, let alone look at you", She snapped, her voice filled with rage.

She struggled to free herself from my grip. No, that wasn't going to happen again. I wouldn't let her go- not today, not ever. She would be mine, always and forever.

"What do you want, Adrain?" She asked, still trying too wriggle free from me.

"You. I want you Iris Astor", I growled, my voice a low rumble.

Her eyes widened in confusion, a strange undercurrent of something else rippling beneath the surface.

A mask of indifference covered her face as she coldly replied, "I'm not playing this game without you".

My voice was deep and menacing as I said, "If you think this is a game,then fine. I'll play, and I'll make sure I win".

Her eyes flashed with anger I could handle anger. It was the pain and hurt I couldn't bear to see in those beautiful eyes.

I caressed her lower lip, my voice low, "And you know what the prize will be if I win".

Her eyes held a curious blend of defiance and confusion.

"You. You will be my prize, Lioness. I'll play and make sure I win if it means you'll be mine", I growled possessively.

"So, you're going to play against the very person you want as a prize? How original", She scoffed.

"I have no choice, Iris. If you win, you'll be out of my reach forever. I can't bear to lose you. I'd rather die than let that happen", I said, my voice filled with pain.

Her voice trembled with accusations as she said,"You left me a month ago, Adrain. You lived without me. So don't lie to me now".

Each word she uttered was a dagger to my heart.

She thinks I've left her but I would never abandon her even if we were buried six feet underground. My soul would always find hers. I can't imagine my life without her.

I'll make sure she knows just how much she means to me.
I'll show her that she is the air I breathe.
I'll ensure that she remains mine forever.
