Adrain's pov:-

Relief washed over me as I held Iris in my arms. If I had arrived two minutes later... No, don't think about that. Iris is safe, she's here, and that's all that matters right now.

"Adrain", Her voice trembled, and tiny shivers rippled through her body.

A fierce protectiveness burned in my chest.

"It's alright Iris", I murmured "You are fine".

My gaze slid to William, who was hovering like a leaf, from the earlier gunshot.

It didn't take me long to track the car involved in Iris's kidnapping, and it didn't take much longer to find the two people who dragged her out of the car while she was unconscious.

A torturous session with both of them made them open up completely. They told me everything: how William had contacted them because they, were professional kidnappers and had given them a hefty sum of money to kidnap Iris. Then, as ordered by William, they crashed her car and took her to an abandoned cabin.

Once they provided the location details, I didn't waste a minute. I called my men to accompany me because I didn't want to take any chance.

"Keep him alive; I'll deal with him later", I said to one of my men, Mark.

"Got it sir", Mark nodded.

I wanted to kill him now, to torture him so intensely that he would beg for death himself, and then to end his life brutally. But Iris is my priority right now; this motherfucker can wait.

"Iris, I'll take you to the hospital and get you checked. Okay Baby", I muttered softly in her ear.

Iris gave a tiny, silent nod, I left my men to deal with the mess in the cabin and gently guided her into my car.

She remained silent during the entire journey.

Dr. Gordon was waiting for us when we arrived at the hospital. He is our family doctor and a dear friend of my dad.

He examined her carefully.

"Is she fine?" I asked impatiently.

"She has a minor head wound and some cuts, but nothing serious. Some medicine and rest will get her feeling better", Dr. Gordon said calmly.

They cleaned and bandaged Iris's wounds, but her continued silence gnawned at my concern.

"Can I take her home?" I inquired anxiously as they finished tending to her wounds.

"Absolutely, but she'll need plenty of rest and careful attention while she recovers", Dr. Gordon muttered.

"Leave it to me", I assured him.

Maneuvering Iris gently, I guided her out of the hospital and eased her into the car.

"Iris", I ventured, my voice hesitant as she remained silent. "Should we head to your place? Or is there somewhere else you'd prefer?" I settled in beside her, keeping a watchful eye.

"Maybe my place isn't the best idea right now; Is there a chance we could go somewhere else?" She asked weakly.

"Of course! We can go to my penthouse. Is that alright?" I asked softly.

A flicker of relief crossed Iris's face as she gave a curt nod.

The drive was a blur of city lights, the silence between us broken only by the soft hum of the engine. In no time at all, we pulled up to the penthouse entrance.

My penthouse is like a fancy apartment high above the city. It's comfy and modern, with huge windows that show the whole city sparkling below. The furniture is nice and sleek, but it feels cozy too. There's a great kitchen with shiny appliances and lots of space to cook. The bedroom is my own peaceful space, with a balcony for fresh air. It's the perfect city home!

"Iris", I murmured softly, my voice barely a whisper "That's the guestroom. Why don't you get some rest? I'll be right here if you need anything".

"Thank you", She whispered, her voice barely audible "I just want to shower and sleep but I don't have any clothes with me so...

"No problem, you can borrow one of my shirts. And if you're hungry, I'll cook us some food", I muttered.

With a tired nod, Iris shuffled towards the guestroom, her movements heavy with exhaustion.

Iris is safe now, and its time to deal with the fucker and show him the consequences of trying to hurt what belongs to me.
