Adrian's pov:-
I was working on my laptop, meticulously planning a certain activity and outlining every detail, when my phone suddenly rang, interrupting my flow of concentration.
"I've found the things you asked me to," Bennett said from the other end of the line, his voice tinged with a mix of triumph and relief. He proceeded to elaborate on the details, explaining how he had tracked down each item and the effort it had taken to gather everything.
"Good," I responded, letting out a small sigh of relief
"Should I email you the details or bring them to you in person?" Bennett asked, his voice steady but laced with a hint of curiosity.
"No, let's meet in person," I said, considering the importance of the details he might need to convey. "Meet me at the Luxe Bites restaurant in one hour".
"Okay, Boss", Bennett replied.
As I strolled out of the office, Mom stopped me midway.
"Baby, where are you going", She asked.
Alice Russo excuses elegance and sophistication, clad in a tailored designer suit with exquisite jewellery adorning her wrists and neck. Her perfectly coiffed hair frames a face that bears the subtle marks of age, but her piercing gaze speaks of wisdom and experience.
"Some work came up, Mom", I replied.
"You're always working; you need rest, darling".
"Mom, I rest, and then you're here to take care of me", I said with a smile.
"Such a charmer", Mom said in a teasing tone.
"That I'm. Anyways Mom, I have to go. I'll see you soon".
"Okay, Take care of yourself", Mom muttered.
Upon arrival at Luxe Bites, I found Bennett already seated at the table. I took the seat opposite him.
"Well, you're correct; he has sold his shares to someone else", Bennett said.
"Motherfucker, who? I asked angrily.
"That is yet to be discovered; they are being quite secretive about this", He replied.
"Being Secretive means he is sacred; he should be. He thought I wouldn't find out, but I always keep a close watch, especially on those audacious enough to confront me", I said in a frustrated tone.
"He dug his own grave", Bennett said while smiling.
"Don't you think we should pay a visit to his grave"? I smirked.
"Ofcourse we should, this will be fun", Bennett responded.
As we arrived at his house, his guard attempted to halt us, but a handful of cash swiftly resolved the situation. Fucker's guard had betrayed him. When we entered his room, he was sleeping peacefully.
"Ahhh, He is sleeping peacefully; we shouldn't let that happen", Bennett said behind me.
"Ofcourse we should not", I responded.
I swiftly drew my gun and placed it right against his head, feeling the cold metal press against his skin. The room was cloaked in darkness, heightening the tension of the moment. Just then, Bennett flicked the switch, flooding the room with harsh, bright light.
William Buffet's eyes slowly fluttered open, disoriented at first, but then quickly widening as he registered the cold, unforgiving barrel of the gun pressed against his temple. His face paled instantly, the color draining away to leave a ghostly white. His breathing became shallow and rapid, and a look of sheer panic overtook his features.
"Adrian, what are you-------
"Planning to send you straight to God", I said dryly.
"No, please don't", He sobbed.
"You should have thought of this before you betrayed me. You weren't supposed to sell your shares to anyone but me. We had this deal for five years, but you betrayed me. And you know what happens when someone betrays me", I said in a dark tone.
"I don't want to do that but she blackmailed me, Adrain please", William voice cracked.
"Blackmailed", Bennett asked.
"Who Blackmailed you", I questioned.
"Henry Astor's daughter, Iris Astor. She came to my office and blackmailed me, saying I should sell the shares to her or she would expose my affair to my wife. I was sacred and sold my shares to her. I'm sorry, I didn't have a choice. Please".
It took me a moment to process his words, and when I did, I didn't know how to react. Iris Astor had blackmailed William to get back at me. My blood boiled, and I couldn't understand why, especially since she was the last person I expected to do something like that.
She has unleashed my devilish side, and I have only one thing to say to her: " Welcome to the hell of Adrain Russo, Iris Astor".
