An Embarrasing night

Jienna's POV
The room was reeking of alcohol. Things were the same at home. Like always. My dad never noticed I was at home. He never does. Not that I care. I've stopped caring for a long time now. Need to close off so they can't hurt me anymore. I sighed and leaned against the wall of my room. Mom wasn't at home. It was just my dad and me. My thoughts drifter to Yuka. I couldn't help but think that she suffered a lot. I know that I don't know the whole story, but I can tell that she hurts. Deep inside her heart hurts even though she never showed me that vulnerable side.

Will I ever see her vulnerable side? I can't help but care for her. I thought that I'd lost that ability to love a person. I thought that I'll forever be invisible to the eyes of people. Filled with despair, self pity and loneliness. But then... Something inside me changed when I saw her sitting there on the first day of school, leaning against the Sakura tree having this sad look on her face. Maybe... I approached her because I wanted to change. Maybe deep down I wanted to do something for somebody that I wanted someone to do for me. Guide me. And help me to feel again. Help me love. Help me be human again and not just a passing cloud of flesh. I heard the sound from my alarm clock read the time.

12:00

I was about to call it a night and head to bed when I heard giggling noises in the living room. No. He wouldn't. I opened the door of my room, allowing just a small crack for my to see what was going on. What I saw made me cringe.

It was a woman. A women that I've never met sitting too close to my father and drinking beer and giggling. What the hell? I got up from the place I was sitting in and leaned against the wall. My once empty heart was raging with emotion and my body was paralyzed. He knew I was in the house. Am I really that irrelevant? I clenched my fists by my side and walked into the living room. "Who is she?" My father looked at me his eyes full of anger. I'm done playing family with you. I'm done. "Are you cheating on mom is that what you're doing?" No answer. The woman kept looking back and forth between me and my father, with a surprised expression. "You know what? I'm done with you. All of you. You can do whatever the hell you want in this house and maybe pretend that I became one with the walls or something. I'm leaving. You can have all the sluts you want then!! There'll be no one to get in your way" I stormed into my room and gathered my stuff. I didn't know where I was going to go nor did I know what I was going to do. But all I knew now was... I needed to leave. That I was done. I was packing throwing my clothes into a bag when the tears came.

After all those nights of crying I had learnt to conceal my emotions. But now... All that came tumbling down. I wiped my tears furiously and swung my bag over my shoulder and exited the house. I looked back. I guess I was waiting for him to come after me. Waiting for him to tell me not to go. A small part of me really really wanted that. But he didn't. And then I left.

Gon's POV
Argh!! What do I do??!!! I was walking down the street, my hands buried in my jacket. Why was I out in the middle of the night? That was because I wanted to think.and since my dad was also not at home, I took advantage of the situation to get some fresh air.

I was really conflicted. On one hand, I really wanted to know what was bothering Killua. I wanted to really know what was going on. But on the other hand I didn't want to be the type of friend that nags. I sighed and thought about going back home when I collided with something. Ouch. Wait a sec. Something... Or someone. I paused rubbing my head for a second and glanced up. I was surprised to see none other than Jienna. I stood up and helped her up to her feet.
"Hey. What are you doing here in the middle of the night?"
"Shouldn't I be asking you the same question?" She replied with a small grimace. "Well.. I guess... Sorry for earlier"
"It's fine. I wasn't paying attention to where I was going" she said furiously wiping at her eyes. "Hey... Is everything alright?"
"Ha.. Everything is dandy Gon... Id hound get going" I caught her hand before she could leave tho. "Jienna.."
And then she broke down in tears as I held her trembling form.

"You're sure about what you saw? No misunderstandings?" Jienna sighed and turned towards me with a frown on my face. We were currently sitting in my house with a cup of coffee in our hands. "Yes I'm sure. What type of question is that?"
"Well I just thought that maybe you misunderstood the entire thing"
"It would be absolutely amazeballs if everything really was a misunderstanding. But this is just an excuse to get away from that house"
"Maybe you should talk to your family"
"That's what Yuka said. But I just freeze when I face them"
"Eh? Who's Yuka?" Jienna looked at me with a quizzical look on her face. Wait. Shit!!!! I fucked up!!! "I mean.. Eh.... I was a little confused. Since we as in Killua and me never call Yuka by her name" Shit shit shit shit shit. Please just kill me!! "Oh really? So what do you call her?" Jienna asked an amused expression on her face.
"Well... You see it's actually a very funny story!! Um.. We all have some kind of ritual of sorts. When it's only the three of us, we call each other by our funny nicknames. We never let you in on it cause Yuka's name is pretty embarrassing. In fact my name is Mr.Freak. Killua's is... Mr.StickUpHisAss and Yuka... Wee I don't call her this... But Killua keeps calling her Ms.Sexilishious" Jienna burst out laughing at the last one. Hearing her laughter also cooled down my nerves as a small chuckle left my mouth. "Is that even a word!!??" She asked in between laughs. "No. But Killua said she looked so good that he had to invent new words to describe how beautiful she looked!!" Ok. Now that was really crossing the line. Killua is going to kill me if he knew what I was saying to Jienna. I was kinda ruining the cool guy image that he created. I was making him sound like a love sick puppy and I can't help but enjoy destroying the cool boy image. "Gon. I can't imagine Killua doing all that"
"Ok course you can't. This is Mr. StickUpHisAss version 2. He's changed thanks to her. They've helped each other grow"
"Hm. Yea. I can agree on that" Ok. Ok. Safe ground. Safe ground. Now just find a safe topic...

"You said that you don't have any place to stay right? How about you stay here?"
"No way. I don't want to freeload at my friend's place"
"Hey that's fine. Killua has free loaded at my place already. It's fine. You can stay till things die down at your place"
"Your parents won't mind?"
"Nope. My dad won't mind a bit"
"Hey Kid!!" Just then I heard the front door open. Speak of the devil!! Why am I having such a bad day? "Hey dad!!" I called out from the living room. Jienna started fidgeting with the hem of top and nodded to her in reassurance. Ging raised his eyebrows when he saw Jienna sitting on the sofa next to me.
"Hey Kid... Is this your girlfriend?" Dad!!!!! What the hell???
Jienna became tomato red and found the ground to be extremely interesting. "Dad!! No!! What is- argh!!- She's not my girlfriend jeez!!"
Ging leaned against the wall with an amused expression on his face. "Well it's 12:50 in the night and I find a girl here when I'm not around. And you are a teenager with your needs so I just figured you'd taken advantage of your old mans disappearance"
I stared at my 'amazing' dad. He's not going to let me out of this without embarrassing me is he? This is really THE WORST NIGHT OF MY LIFE!!!
"NO!! Jesus. This is my friend and classmate Jienna. We knocked into each other a little while back and I invited her in. Dad. Can she stay here for a few days? Something came up. Until things die down I asked her to stay with us. Ok with you?" Ging placed his fingers on his chin and scanned Jienna from top to bottom. My eyebrow twitched. Why does he have to be so dramatic!!! "Alright. But I have one condition. I don't want to find both of you in the same room with the door closed. At least while I'm around ok? I don't want to be traumatized"
"DAD!!" Seriously. THE. WORST.
